stef -> RE: advice (2/21/2012 10:10:52 PM)

Yes, and you'll be going to INTERNET JAIL!

lizi -> RE: advice (2/21/2012 10:11:58 PM)

Do you know things about him that you could use as well? Is he in the same geographic area as you? Have your dealings with him been strictly online?

Fornica -> RE: advice (2/21/2012 10:12:08 PM)

Honestly, it depends how many thongs he actually has personal knowledge of. Has he been mistreated by these thongs?
This is defo the place to come for law advice about your thongs, sister. We've had a few situations with undercracker theft before. And yes, he can DEFO get the feds against you, both for your thongs as well as the going back to your ex. Get your affairs in order, posthaste.

Hey peeps....I've been chatting with this person for a little bit, I can't swear to it but she seems like she's young and dealing with a bully. I was the one who asked her to post here, because you all are generally very smart and sensible.

If you are not guilty of anything, then you have nothing to worry about.

Blackmail is illegal. You can go to the police. Depending on your circumstances most threats arent worth much anyway because most people don't care about your sex life. In the future protect your identity better (assuming that you gave this man information about your life or used slack internet security)

Ok, first question, and don't give details, but did you do something illegal that he knows about? If he does, then he may be able to try to turn you in. However, see if he has sent anything to you on the order of "If you don't X I will do Y," regarding threats of getting an investigation. If he has, then he is engaging in blackmail, which is itself a felony, one the FBI would gladly investigate.
If you have not broken any laws, then he is lying to scare you. Again, see if he has made the threats in a form that falls under blackmail. If not, he is still threatening you, this is assault, also a crime.
He may be one of those morons who either thinks they can fool you into thinking they "work for the government," or thinks that the FBI will investigate anyone for any reason. If he actually works for the government, and starts an investigation of you to harass you, his remaining government employment can be measured in weeks.
I would confront him with the fact that he is threatening you, that is a crime, and if he wants the law involved, you will be happy to oblige him, since he is the one who would end up in jail...

collarmeplz89 -> RE: advice (2/21/2012 10:23:22 PM)

sincelo -> RE: advice (2/21/2012 10:26:15 PM)

Well if he tells the police you killed people and buried them in your basement the cops will come check out your basement. Not sure without specifics what you are asking here

What kind of info does he have on you? Name? Job? What do you know about him, could you possibly out him as well?
Two can play his game. I doubt that he'd ever go beyond being full of hot air but if he did would you have anything on him that you could use?

I would absolutely advice against confronting him. No good can come of it. Change your phone number, block any known email addresses and don't ever speak of him or to him again. He's a pissant and will be a laughing stock as soon as he calls up the FBI and says... "I have been talking to this girl on a kink sight and I think she's a _________ (fill in the blank). We haven't actually met and I don't know if anything she's said is actually true but can you start an expensive investigation into this internet person for me?"

OP: He's already deleted his profile. You won. Let it go.

Go edit your post #11.. just delete it. It does not serve you well. You have only one hour to do so from the time you wrote it.

eta: Good job on post 11. Now, don't let yourself get into the situation again. Lesson learned, right?

collarmeplz89 -> RE: advice (2/21/2012 10:40:32 PM)

as long as he can't do anything yes

SoftBonds -> RE: advice (2/21/2012 10:50:43 PM)

Bitatrouble is right, ignore him. I tend to confront evil-doers, and forget that tilting at windmills is a fools game.
If all he has is something you said, all you have to do is point out that what you said was just part of your fantasy. You didn't really do X and Such, you just were pretending. Think about what site you are on...
Phone numbers can be changed, if he does know where you work, let your boss know you have a crazy stalker, but don't go into details. If he does call, your boss can turn him in.
