cause it is bad political juju

The USA is a nation damned if it does and damned if it doesn't and our politcal people tend to pander to whatever voice is the loudist reguardless if it is really the majority or best, or otherwise

PlayfulOne -> RE: Do you support the Minute Men? (6/2/2006 8:47:30 PM)

Wolf,

You do understand the United States is a Republic and not a Democracy?  The majority does not always rule and at times can be flat wrong.

Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,

The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.

Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,

I lift my lamp beside the golden door!

I suppose that means nothing to you, but I am sure somewhere along the line you probably had ancestors to whom it did.
The Minute Men should go home and tend to their own lives and not disgrace a name from our past that stood for more than the views of racist bigots.

Wolf1020 -> RE: Do you support the Minute Men? (6/2/2006 8:53:19 PM)

Oh yes, it does and it did to my ancestors.  They however had respect for their new country wanted to be Americans and didn't violate its laws to get here.

And it was founded as a republic, in it's current form it is a democracy unfortunately.

mnottertail -> RE: Do you support the Minute Men? (6/2/2006 8:54:06 PM)

the minute men have always been with us, personally; in the long run.......it is far more profitable to get my dick sucked.  They had there chance to be part of the government forces and fuck it up that way as most of us, or they can join non-governmental forces and fuck it up spontaneously and there exists a distinction without a difference.............

But there is no doubt that mexicans who will flip burgers are a threat to this nation as well as people who pay their credit cards in full or more than the minimum payment month-to-month.........

So, yeah, Iran shouldn't have nuclear wepons because they have no Idea what the fuck they are doing and we do........

Everyone in the world should profit from our political struggles as Iraq has over the years, if them rag-headed niggers would get it they would just accept the shining democratic principals that we have deomnstrated  nearly 4 years out of two hundred and some odd years that we have been wending our way thru the space-time continuum.

Yeah, I know it is hard to be the world police........
so I had this friend named tom.......and I was having a conversation with him (didn't mean nothing now or then) and all of a sudden I saw this flourescent spray..........
He tipped over, fuck it......glad oit wasm't me.......

and the chinese are still communist as well as FRENCH-INDOCHINA and ...............aw fuck it....
I know who went here and who didn't and to you armchair assholes I say ..fuck you and your entire ass and all you think you stand for.

IF your political brilliance is the de riguer
.........

Over time we supplied Iraq, in the war against Iran, whom  we supplied prior.  Some years later there is a squabble and we waltz in and gonna fix it in our collective wisdom........

Cool you fuckwads.........

Explain it to tom......he has a stone in my local cemetary and I will take you to it.  You tell him.

Wolf,

Of course it doesn't mean anything to you, as it means nothing to all of the other "bar the door cause they are dragging us to hell" people.

We (The United States) are responsible for most of the problems that haunt us simply because we wouldn't mind our own business.  It always comes back to bite us.

Iraq,  we mucked that up when we armed and trained them because they were at war with Iran.  Iran, we mucked that up when we held the Shaw in power  You wonder why so many of the leaders in Iran hate us, you shouldn't.  They grew up and spent a youth learning to hate us when we helped hold a tyrant in power.  The terroist?  We trained them when we were mad at the Russians and had a chance to be a thorn in their side in Afghanistan.  Remember the enemy of your enemy is your friend, until he defeats that enemy and you go back to being his enemy once again.   We have a history of creating chaos.  Remember a little place called Vietnam?  The end of WW II,  Ho Chi Mein was a fighter with us against the Japanese, once the war was over they said thank you now we would like our country back.  the French threw a fit as they wanted to take possession of their colony once again.  Did we say no let them have their own free country?  No we used the captured Japanese troops to police the people of Vietnam until the French could arive to reclaim things.  How many of the people of Vietnam, French troops, and our own soldiers could have been spared had we simply minded our own business and told the French no?  We have a history of creating messes because we do not plan ahead and think about what our actions will lead to.  Notice the current administration scratching their head because they never really planned for after the war.

Wolf1020 -> RE: Do you support the Minute Men? (6/2/2006 9:30:40 PM)

....when did I ever say bar the doors?  I never did, and it isn't what the minutemen stand for either.  If you actually looked into them rather then believe what the media tells you you'd know that.  There is a difference between anti-immigrant and anti-illegal immigrant.  And an even bigger difference between that and racist.

No friend, I have no problem with immigration.  Come here legally.  Respect our laws and culture.  Become and American.  I welcome you with open arms.

I have a problem with a leach that sneaks across the boarder steals an Americans job cause he will do it for half the price or less (and yeah, I blame the employer for that too equally) and then doesn't even contribute it here at least but rather simply sends it back home to his family and lives in a garage.  That is who I have a problem with, not immigrants in general.  I love immigrants, I hate aliens.

While the INS is indeed an enforcement arm of the government, it becomes impotent when the head{s} of the executive branch and congress are whispering in their ear, telling them to stand down. Selective enforcement of our laws - might as well not have any laws - Sad but true.

So I suppose they are vigilantes.  Again, I have no idea of the context he said it in.
Yours,benji

Actually benji they arent acting in that capacity. They arent enforcing any laws nor arresting or detaining people but simple calling in information to Border Patrol. So in a sense if someone is breaking into your house and your neighbor sees them and calls the police does that make him/her a vigilante? No, simply a good neighbor reporting a crime. As far as I know there have been no reports of citizen arrests, hampering, detaining, shots fired etc. Simply watching and reporting.
Now if we could just get someone to do the same on the Bush Administration. [:)]

A neighborhood watch.   :-)

MstrssPassion -> RE: Do you support the Minute Men? (6/3/2006 4:37:11 AM)

The question: Do you support the Minute Men?

Mixed emotions on this one...

Though I support the ideals of securing our borders I do not feel that constructing a fence will resolve any of the issues they are attempting to address.

Doesn't anyone recall the numerous underground tunnel systems that have been discovered?

Cheap labor & illegal drugs seem to be the main thing crossing the border to the south. There are far more threatening matters to our nation's security happening at the border to our north.

Moloch -> RE: Do you support the Minute Men? (6/3/2006 5:53:32 AM)

I support the Minute Men and I am an Immigrant.

rigggght

I know several, most don't drink period.  You know I don't have a problem with simply not supporting then, I really don't.  But trying to misrepresent them as drunks with guns on the boarder looking to shoot a few Mexicans really, really ticks me off.  Please at least say something intelligent when entering a debate.

Okay, so they are sober rednecks hanging out on the border, looking to terrorize a few Mexicans. Better?

I know a few, too. Living in southern NM as I do, it's unfortunately unavoidable.

Bob

Wolf1020 -> RE: Do you support the Minute Men? (6/3/2006 11:14:21 AM)

you say redneck like it is a bad thing [:D]

And they aren't looking to terrorize anyone.  You do understand their policy is to avoid any actual contact with illegals if at all possible right?  They call BP on the cell phone when they spot one.  They carry guns, if I was in a situation likewise to that I would carry a gun to.

Yep.  Canadian bacon, an abundance of beaver, and parkas sure are threatening.

malakas -> RE: Do you support the Minute Men? (6/3/2006 5:12:19 PM)

You may call them "vigilantes" (in which case you agree with President Bush who used the same word), but they are not doing anything illegal.  Neither their activities nor their ideas are against the law.  Minutemen support government enforcement of existing law and oppose passive acceptance of blatant violations thereof.

In the United States, citizens are permitted to arrest criminals ("citizen's arrest") and turn them over to the proper authorities.  If the Minutemen were doing anything illegal, they would be arrested and charged with violating the law. They have not been arrested because they have scrupulously followed the law.

Rather than harassing law-abiding American citizens, the U.S. government should focus on those who violate American law by illegally entering the United States.  Minutemen believe the government should enforce the law and protect the borders, but the government isn't protecting the borders - and this neglect has an adverse effect on border towns where most live. If the law were fully enforced, Minutemen would never have organized. If the law is fully enforced tomorrow, they will dissolve tomorrow.

It is absurd for the U.S. government to require fingerprints of all non-citizens entering the country by air while permitting anyone who wishes to walk into the country from Mexico unimpeded.  Only a fool would believe that terrorists are going to fly into America and face the security now in place at American airports when they can fly into Mexico and walk across the border. Hello Mr. Bush?

popeye1250 -> RE: Do you support the Minute Men? (6/3/2006 6:43:52 PM)

First of all, for those of you who flunked high school science this has nothing to do with "racism."
There are only three (3) "Races"; Negroid, Caucasoid, Mongoloid.
"Hispanic" or "Mexican" is not a "race".
"Hispanic" is an Ethnic group just like "Tarter", "Saxon" or "Celtic."
For Hispanics to claim to be a seperate "race" would be like (Me) claiming to be a seperate "race" by calling myself "Celtic" because of being of Irish descent.
It just doesn't flush.
The Minutemen have every legal right to be doing what they are doing as well as excercising their right of "Freedom of Assembly."
This (OUR) government is guilty of Dereliction of Duty for not closing that Mexican border down air tight.
I, am a Republican.
I really don't know how George Bush, John Mc Cain, Lindsey Graham and others have snuck into our Party!
These people are NOT Republicans! If they don't want to do the job then they either need to resign or be thrown out of office!
They are NOT part of Management, they are the hired help and they are *failing miserably to perform their duties* as regards securing our borders and enforcing our immigration laws!

One thing that people need to understand is that immigration to ANY country is not a "right." Immigration to ANY country is not a "Human Right" (whatever that is!)
And sneaking into a foreign country is very Illegal.
We simply cannot continue to have 12-20 million illegal aliens in our country no matter which country they come from!
Being of Irish descent I would arrest and deport the illegal Irish FIRST, just to set the example!
It is totally embarrassing that The Minutemen should even have to exist! It just demonstrates the abject failure of our govt to perform their duties!
As for the Statue of Liberty it is called "Lady Liberty" not "Lady Immigration"
Anyone who saw it as they arrived in this country came here LEGALLY.
"Immigration" and "Illegal Aliens" are two different subjects. Apples and oranges.
ONE illegal alien in this or any country is ONE too many.
Ireland just last year did away with "Automatic Citizenship by Birth"; the Irish People got to vote on it and they did so by 80% to 20% against.
Unless both parents are in Ireland (Legally) any child born to them is not granted Irish Citizenship.
We need to do that in the U.S. too and it should be grandfathered back to 1986 when we had that "One Time Amnesty" by Ronald Reagan.
This is about simple GREED.
Companies, Big Corporations, contractors wanting a never ending supply of "cheap labor" that YOU get to pay for through your taxes while THEY put the extra money in their pockets!
I seriously doubt they're going to "pass the savings along to the consumer" but then I don't believe in the EASTER BUNNY either.
These people need some HEAVY DUTY JAIL TIME! Then when they get out of jail after 10-20 years they can be Convicted Federal Felons and bag groceries for $6 per hour. I have absolutely NO SYMPATHY for these Parasites of society!
All this being said there is plenty of blame to go around not just to Republicans but also Democrats.
That fat P.O.S. Ted Kennedy along with John McCain are the ones who "authored" this P.O.S. Senate Bill S-2611"Amnesty/Guestworker."
After my senator (Lindsey Graham) voting for it he will be thrown out of office in '08.
The People in this state are *PISSED-OFF* about it!
There's going to be a LOT of new faces in the Senate in the next three elections!

Alumbrado -> RE: Do you support the Minute Men? (6/3/2006 6:51:29 PM)

Racism is no more bound by the high school science definition of a race, than empiricism is limited to the high school history definition of an empire.
