Not sure why I like her, but possibly, because she looks like a grown woman, unlike the usual teen or 20s boob candy thrown at us.

She manages to capture the geist of generations of musical take on things, in contemporary cultural terms, her own brand being at the forefront.

I love that record she did with Van Dyke Parks. You can tell that she's Lowell George's daughter, put it that way...

Yes, well, to give the story that you and others here might likely be aware of already, Van Dyke Parks was a large contributor to the best Beach Boys album that never got completed in it's own day, Smile.

He was the one who came up with the idea of the cellos and wrote for that part on the song Good Vibrations.

It might not be as well known that all of The Who were significant surf/beach music fans, Entwistle and Moon especially (witness; Bucket T).

McCartney stated that the Pet Sounds album was what he considered the best ever at the time, and does not shy away at all in acknowledging that influence on his song Good Day Sunshine and a few others.

But Van Dyke Parks, ... yeah, somebody you'd want co-writing or producing your record, if you can get him. I think it speaks a lot of Inara George and her talents that she could get him into the process for one of her own efforts.

Two people with good musical taste.

She shouldn't look like a teen, as she's almost 40. The voice is a little wispy for me though.

Never been a fan of the loud belting type, myself. Easy to see where she would fall short of the mark for those who are. The subtlety and relatively indirect construction of both the words and the music, with occasional sudden departure therefrom, is a nice change of pace for me, certainly an advancement beyond the typical fare. I appreciate things in the way of the music itself, for its own sake, more than as a loud statement of whatever that others are seeking in such venture.
