Yes, well, to give the story that you and others here might likely be aware of already, Van Dyke Parks was a large contributor to the best Beach Boys album that never got completed in it's own day, Smile.
He was the one who came up with the idea of the cellos and wrote for that part on the song Good Vibrations.
It might not be as well known that all of The Who were significant surf/beach music fans, Entwistle and Moon especially (witness; Bucket T).
McCartney stated that the Pet Sounds album was what he considered the best ever at the time, and does not shy away at all in acknowledging that influence on his song Good Day Sunshine and a few others.
But Van Dyke Parks, ... yeah, somebody you'd want co-writing or producing your record, if you can get him. I think it speaks a lot of Inara George and her talents that she could get him into the process for one of her own efforts.
Two people with good musical taste.
