My favorite thing about turning 50 (or just getting older)


Hair growing in crazy places, like one in the middle of my forehead.

Status: offline 		I love being the age I am, really. I am pretty much good with who I am, most days, when the meds or the porch are helping.

But, in the past couple of months, I have noticed some things that are really making me "appreciate" getting older.I am just wondering if I am insane, or if there are others enjoying the fruits of not dying young and leaving a good looking corpse.

I may add more, but, I been porching and this is all I got right now!

Status: offline 		At 55 I am not quite ready for the porch yet. I am living the life I didn't get to when I was a young, single mother. I have come into my own and I'm loving every minute of it.

I chose the ceasing of hair growing. Shaving is so much easier and quicker these days.

Status: offline 		My favorite thing about turning 50 is that it won't happen for.. oh, about 5 years and two weeks or so, as the linear time flies. BUT, I expect it to rock even harder than 40 did.
Shahar honey, when's your birthday? It appears we are about the same age..

I'd say my favorite thing is when someone younger is in need of physical help moving or lifting or pushing a car and I pile in and this old grey bearded balding guy gets a look of "DAYUMMMMMMMMMM".

Bud....I ain't gonna answer your poll but I will tell you this.....

30 was amazing.

40 was beyond astounding.

50, I thought "FUCK!!!!! I'm on the downhill slide" but.....I can tell you this....ain't no fucking kid got the Aces on me because....I know the whole goddamn game.

And THAT is what is sweet about becoming 50!

Wanna try and slide something past me? Been there, done that kiddo....go have a Pepsi....'cause I'm three fucking legs ahead of you.

(And I ain't even breaking a goddamn sweat).

Status: offline 		turned 50 on thursday, IM still waiting for the awesomeness to get started, but I am looking forward to menopause , and thigh high boots with orthotics.
Im looking forward to the next decade, I dont have a porch, but I do have a very comfy chair:)
I wouldnt be 21 again if you paid me.
I still have no intention of aging gracefully

Status: offline 		i'm not turning 50, but will soon be 40. i've had mixed feelings about this really. all my birthdays have been none eventful in that i haven't cared either way about getting older as the years have gone past. but getting to 40 over this last year has has me niggled, but just because i had wanted things to be so different by now.

things in my life are really tough at the mo, and are only going to get tougher this year. i've know that for the last 3 years and have not looked forward to it at all. however, looking at the positive side; i have a great son, i have a lover from whom i get the greatest sex of my life, i have just started training horses again and have got some rebookings, i have one website built and 4 others in process, i'm actually ok with myself if still anxious about what He thinks (but he tells me he likes it the way it is so all gravy there), i can now drive and have a car to help me widen my training distance, and on days like today i'm content

i used to want so much more, and if i ever get those things then cool. mostly though i just want to be content.

Status: offline 		40's are awesome! That "Life begins at 40" has a lot of truth to it, or at least, did for me.

I am really looking forward to 50, I am just amazed at the changes my body is going through as it approaches. Different stuff for sure-lol.

Status: offline 		At 58, I'm officially pushing 60. My fifties have been great, despite some medical set backs. Why?

Oh gee, I know myself *and* other people and their intentions, so much better. Once you know who you are and what you want out of life, it all becomes so much easier.

And there's not a thing wrong with some serious porch time no matter what your age. Learnign how to relax is a major accomplishment.

Status: offline 		I'm neither female (eliminates some choices) nor 50 (some choices I could have checked at 20 though :-p), but having just turned 40 a few weeks ago.. I'd have to say the LEAST favorite thing is that sudden realization that I'm getting up there in number of years, but still pretty young, dumb, and inexperienced :-(
