Ok, by and large, i tend to refer to Dominant/submissive in the Male/female form.  While i certainly know there are many many many wonderful Dommes out there and some wonderful male submissives... i tend to think in those terms because, well...that's the kind of relationship i am in...

But i got to thinking...

Do Y/ya'll really stress it?  Do W/we actually care if durring a debate someone forgets to be politically correct and mention that there are, in fact, both sexes involved on both sides of the spectrum?

Just curious.  i'll be interested to read responses

Personally, I could care less about political correctness. If I , or another, is too sensitive to understand the meaning of what is being said, then neither of us should  be in the discussion to begin with. Just my opinion though.

I think it's nice when people take the time to mention it, and there certainly are cases where it's appropriate to point out the full spectrum...but for the most people people post from the perspective that they know best and it's not an issue at all.

Here here!  As a society, we have definately gotten entirely too thin in the skin for our own good.

Personally,  I prefer titles.

Dominant/submissive covers most everything.   Ther e is Master/slave as well as Domestic Discipline where there is a HOH.
This site does not care that much as long as you remain respectful to all Dom's.   That is always a good practice for any of us.

Respectfully,

Mistress_Jan

Please don't misunderstand...i really do try to cover all ends of the spectrum...i do...  but even the term Dominant/submissive doesn't cover M/s.  -smiles-  Or Gor for that matter.

I try to just say "dominant", which covers both sexes. But no, it does not bother me. Starvation, AIDS, or the death of a loved one bothers me.

I don't mind political correctness as long as it doesn't interfere with legibility or understanding by the intended audience.

If I start writing about Dommes & Doms (in no particular order) being, notwithstanding the cases where neither sex applies, female and male, unless of course capitalization is desired, as in Female and Male, and subs and subbes being, notwithstanding idiots who desire a distinction, gender neutral, if the speaker wishes them to remain so, then the point of my statement is completely lost.

If anyone actually reads that entire paragraph, could they be so kind as to explain it to me?  Thanks.

As to being respectful to Doms, I'm not.  C'est la vie.

Yours,

benji

As a Libertarian, I make an art form out of being politicall incorrect. That said, I find Jack Rinella to be one of the most valuable resources in the BDSM community. He is a gay, male Dominant and I'm happily het. But I don't have a problem with applying his concepts to my situation

Nowhere in either the Forum Guidelines or Collarme.com Terms of Service does it specifically state that users must remain respectful to all dominants.  What it does say, is that everyone should act with the maturity as befits an adult site and that flaming and criticising others and/or their personal kinks is not acceptable.

Cassie, your words are delightful regardless.

Benji, without your irrepressive irreverance just IMAGINE how fat the dominants heads would get!  (seeing Macy's parade balloons here)

I am just so politically incorrect its not even funny. I just cannot get into capitolization and stuffy titles, its not my style. The way I look at it is I try to treat everyone with respect and decency unless of course I get fired up pissy or silly. If thats the case and people cannot take a joke.......mehhhh...........they've got bigger problems than me. Personally, unless someone is MY submissive or slave I am not at all into being called anything other than my name.
I agree with Level, much more important things to care about than that.

Mistress LaTigresse, Ma'am, oh grand exalted Goddess of my lowly life,

I fully agree with Your post of perfection, this shining example of Dominant brilliance.  There truly are more important things in my irrelevant life, when compared to Yours, oh Goddess of kindness.  My truly humble opinion, if You will take a moment of Your valuable time to read it, is that it is far more important to make the people who get offended by it riled than to get riled over comments like it.

That is just my subservient view of Your grand world, Mistress LaTigresse, Ma'am and Goddess of phenomenonality.

Oh how i wish i were

Yours,

benji

benji, if I could hug you then swat you or swat you then hug you, I would. I think that pretty much made my day complete. Thank you so much for the delicious laughter. It even startled the two furry canine stretched out here by my chair. Anytime you wish to visit the farm I will make sure they share their water dish!

I haven't noticed that the going-out-of-your-way-not-to-piss-someone-off phenomenon is very big in the CM forums anyway.  SOMEONE'S going to be insulted no matter what you say.
