ORIGINAL: fucktoyprincess FR Okay, as the current reports say that he did not know any of his victims, please disregard my prior comments about bullying (but ONLY as applies to this particular case, as I believe bullying is a pervasive problem in the schools). This killer is, as one of my prior comments stated, someone who grew up in a violent household, and was troubled. Just a sad situation all the way around. I do not have a psychology background, but I know the killer was already in some sort of specialized educational setting (for kids with behavioral issues?) It is not clear to me if one can determine how dangerous someone like this is before they actually kill someone. Obviously, not everyone who grows up in a violent household turns violent themselves. So I'm at a loss to say how we can prevent something like this, other than to say, perhaps guns should not be so easily available. A psychologically unstable person might still try to harm people, but they can do a lot less damage, and likely to fewer people, if they don't have a gun in their hands. It's okay, even the earlier news reports had linked it to bullying. :) You're right that his home life was unstable. I didn't hear what had happened to his parents, but his grandfather had legal guardianship. On the morning of the shootings, police had surrounded the property where he lived and were doing searches on multiple buildings and homesteads (?). They said it was sort of a family "compound". For what that's worth. One good thing, the female student who was shot but listed as being in "stable" condition on the day of the shootings was discharged and went home. Only one left in the hospital, but I couldn't find any word on his condition.
