Well, a little secret (unless Khaled has changed it in the last year or two since I last knew).. mIRC will continue to work after 30 days, and just nag you now and then to register it.

Well I have it installed just don't know how to get to the right ports. I'm stupid when it comes to things like this.

Just got myself set up and even installed a fresh mirc without all my scripts so I'll be in a vanilla irc setup as you would. Will post some screen shots and the steps to follow as soon as I can (as well as some of my own questions for the admins, since I'm not very familiar with the chat server here..)

To the OP, please follow the directions exactly as I stated in a previous post. The port, server address, everything is listed there, just transfer it to your screen.
