OK, time for some fun. While the US is deciding who will be the Republican nominee to run against Obama, I figured we should have a collarchat straw poll.
Granted, not only will Dems be voting, but Foreigners too! So I won't be surprised if the Republican party doesn't award any delegates to us...

I can't stand the guy but I kinda hope Santorum wins the Republican nomination because then we will have a real debate about which way we want this country to go--by way of a theocracy or freedom?

Ron Paul. Even though I don't agree with him, I can at least respect him for not buying into insanity like invasion of nonthreatening countries and unlimited prosperity through tax cuts weirdness.

Santorum might be a good choice because the resultant landslide might finally knock some sense into the crazy wing of the GOP.

Gingrich just makes me sick - a smug liar with no ethics who thinks that he's above morality or accountability.

Romney's just an empty suit with no spine. How the guy ran a corporation beats me.

Looks like the establishment is pushing Romney through. It has nothing to what people really want. Naked election fraud, media blackout of Paul, and other things feel to be more prevalent than during previous selections.

Ron Paul might be one of those "We can't break the deadlock (on Republican nomination floor) between Gingrich and Romney, so we'll see if third place can beat Obama."

I'm thinking wasn't FDR put up for that reason?

Hey! dcnovice, you there?  I bet you know who I mean......

Hey I voted for Joe too ....... on the grounds that he was the only one who wasn't demonstrably insane and had a good excuse anyway .... his education is far more limited than the others.

Really? Dude you couldn't have a SMALLER clue about American Politics and you Just proved it.
Romney is a poster child for the Neo-Con and they are NOT the "establishment"
But never mind that... the DFront Runner Romney has ONLY 143 or 135 depending on who you believe

But to be fair to righties, real clear politics breaks it down like this
Ronmey 143
Santorum 62 (which I question ... I think its a few more... we won't know to we hear what Michigan says in the next day of two)
Gingrich 32
Paul 20

There are also 125 or more unbound delegates who could commit to anyone. We'll be hearing from them soon. And it would be highway robbery for them not to come around for Mitt after super tuesday if what every guy who's been wrong too often in this race is suddenly right on the money, for them to suddenly commit to one of the others ... But THIS IS the party that killed Lincoln.

Seriously? Dude ... if they use Ron Paul for anything, it will be because they're REALLY scared and 'mysterious large scale financing comes about' and Paul goes Indy a'la John Anderson.

Anything else is just the bong hits comin back up.

BTW - Hey Lance!

I agree. Santorum as GOP nominee, a landslide re-election victory for President Obama, and a temporary delay of theocracy (with luck, maybe 20 years of freedom of, and freedom from, religion).

I love this!!

I almost threw up when Santorum said Kennedy's speech made him throw up.

(Not really) How old is Santorum anyway? Comments like that are supposed to come from 10 year olds.

I did go for Joe, but I am not to worried. With those candidates Obama should win real big. Unless the americans is as insane as i sometimes suspect. Electing the first Bush was pretty stupid. Then getting his wimp of a son in I consider pretty crazy and letting the jerk get a second term must classify as collective insanity

I think Obama belongs into the same category: just a parasite in the White House. The first Bush actually did some work and Bill Clinton worked hard building the corporatist America. Last dozen of years it has been just a decay.

I'd like to see Newtshit get the nod, if only because the spectacle of the whole Republican party turning down offers to be his Veep should be amusing...

Santorum would be the most entertaining so I will go with that.
