Could be...I am not trying to single out any particular party...but I am saying the failure to follow through with developing alternate fuel sources is a failure of both political parties. Butch

Butch Imo,.. one problem with alternate fuel is that as soon as enough people jump on that bandwagon and switch to the alternate,.. the freakin price goes up.. [&:] I like solar since the sun shines and is free.. but i would like to see the panels/materials less expensive.. I like the idea of solar on vehicles.. and plug into your solar panel covered house when needed.. One other thing,.. electric/solar vehicles have a limit on how fast they go.. so 55 or 60mph is about the max (for now).. imo, there would be less accidents or as deadly accidents if everyone had electric/solar vehicles, just cuz you wouldnt be going as fast as gas vehicles go now.. that would save lives and reduce repair costs, imo.. another plus.. [:)] Actually, solar panels will get less expensive the more we use. The costs are not that great to make them, it is the cost of the plant set up and transportation. There is a relatively new solar cell technology that is imprinted in plastic. It isn't nearly as efficient, but it costs 1/10th as much. It can be shipped in rolls instead of in carefully packed crates, and is much more difficult to damage. They just haven't had the demand to mass produce it... Edit: I'm not saying solar cell materials are cheap, I am saying a lot of the costs are fixed costs that go down as a percentage of cost as number of units sold increases... Doubt you could drive costs down more than 50% without tech improvements (like the imprinted plastic cells).

Yes, I know about the peel n stick solar plastic roll out panels.. that is what i would use, yes its cheaper but yes, less efficient.. but.. why do i need a "professional" to install it to take advantage of the govt incentives tho? I have assembled my own kitchen cabinets before and i know how to weld with the scary fire stick so i should be able to install that stuff.. [8\|]

The bridge died because of lack of maintenence. Period. This area is finally getting around to fixing bridges that were built before the great depression.
