My great uncle in civilian life drove a bus in the British Protectorate that later became the state of Israel. During WWII he drove a truck in the Jewish Battalion of the British Army (unlike the US they were still segregated.) The British and Canadian forces overran the concentration camp Bergen Belsen. One of the many bodies he carried out was a 14 year old girl, more dead than alive. He didn't remember her. Almost ten years later his son brought a girl whom to introduce to his parents, the girl he was going to marry. She took one look at him and remembered the man who carried her out of hell.
