MisPandora -> A journey to Germany (6/3/2006 1:45:19 AM)

I had the pleasure of making a journey to Frankfurt, Germany 2 weeks ago and part of the good experience can be credited to a CM user.

In the past, some of my trips have been greatly enhanced by meeting local kink-minded or scene folks where I'm making my trip.  I've met them in a variety of ways, either from the event I was attending or had attended in the past, friends in the leather community making those connections, or in certain circumstances, reaching out to perfect strangers in that area to see if someone would be willing to show me around.  I had the fortune to meet a wonderful fellow in Amsterdam that way, and it was my hope that it would happen again for this trip.

About a month before my trip (5/19 to 5/25/06), I contacted A (medic123) on this site and much to my surprise, I got a reply back within a few hours.  We conversed through email back and forth a number of times over the next few weeks, with him making suggestions for places for me to see, as well as helping me brush up on local customs, weather, and things like that.  What made me most comfortable is that he was so willing to chat with me, and made me feel confident that I would have someone in country who would know the area and who might be able to help interpret for me if I really needed it.  Little did I know he'd be so much more!

I arrived in Frankfurt that Saturday morning and got settled into my hotel.  After he was done working, A called me and offered to take me out to a fetish club called Club 24-7 (http://www.club24-7.net) in F.a.M.   He picked me up and drove me to this club across town and, well.....we had a great time!  He showed me around the place and introduced me to folks there (they politely tolerated my lack of fluent german).  We sat and chattered until the wee hours of the morning, watching people play and visit with one another.

The following day, we made plans to go to Offenbach to check out Grande Opera, a fetish club that I'd read and heard a great deal about through friends.  (http://www.grande-opera.de)  I was clearly not disappointed!  A drove me there and introduced me around to the owner.  What a fantastic place.  A was a polite gentleman and even invited some friends over who later went out for drinks with us.

I spent a few more days in Frankfurt, some with friends and another, out on my own touring the city. Again, the night before I left, A picked me up and we went back to Grande Opera for another night of fetishy german fun.   He even took the time to drive me around and show me some of the little known sights of the city!

I'm very thankful to him for being the consummate gentleman and for making my trip more special.

It really worked well for me now on two different trips. I didn't have as much luck with it when I've traveled to Canada, but fortunately, I have a ton of leather friends up there, so it was more just for play than it was for needing a "tour guide." I really recommend trying it if you have a good sense of people.

That is awesome.  I'm swedish, but live in Va. so my journey is not as long to be with my Dom, however, I would use my passport to be with him....still, sooooo glad I'm only an hour away...not a country...giggles.
