Except for the 10 % of the time the ACLU goes against the president you are against. Yeah, we got it, great mystery solved. What a coincidence, etc. "but their opinion seems to matter to a lot of liberals." Ah yes, projection at it's finest.

My views on civil liberties run a bit deeper than which party is in power. I'm a real pain in the ass on free speech issues. I'm not so big on things like letting a serial killer out on parole, because he might have been coerced into a confession. Assuming values that vary entirely on who is in office at the time? Project much?

So you don't think it is accurate to suggest that more liberals care about the ACLU's positions, than conservatives do? What do you find hard to deal with about that idea?

More liberals care about the Constitution`s positions...... than conservatives do.The ACLU feels is just one reflection of that. Your party`s views on voter suppression............ are a more accurate reflection of how you view civil liberties.

Your attempt to move the goalposts on the ACLU and the Second Amendment is just fucking pathetic, even by the fine standards you set. "Action against???" [sm=rofl.gif] November 6 is still a long way away. President Obama has all the advantages of incumbency, and a friendly media environment. He also has a looming Supreme Court decision that will put Obamacare right back on every kitchen table, no matter which way it goes. Gas prices will be starting their summer swing from a record high starting point, and the economy has to stay anemic enough in the growth not to let inflation get loose, and go runaway on us, too soon. The Hope and Change are dead, dude. This speech by Holder is just another color squeezed onto the palette for the Republicans to paint a picture of an administration that wasted three years figuring out how wrong they were to begin with. Bush II hasn't come into the conversation to distract from the subject. The Attorney General brought hm up, in the speech you decided to post about. Holder tried very hard in his speech not to actually say the Bush administration was right all long, but couldn't quite pull it off. I guess the speechwriters got stuck on that, because he both embraced military commissions, AND pointed out that the previous administration had used the civilian courts extensively. Please, Owner59, do give the speech a read, and then tell us more about how it's what you have been saying all along.

What are you so afraid of? terrorist are not super humans with other worldly powers. Fire doesn't shoot from their hands and they don't have nuclear bombs strapped to them. Stop believing all the tv and movie crap and man up! The system we have had for years works very well and it separates us from the 3rd world dictatorships we USED to be able to look down on. The mob rules is no way to run a society.
