IMO, there's something you really should look at, for any ball gag.
There's a design out there, lots of people have it.
They take a ball, run a short leather strap through it, then dip the "ball plus strap" in plastic. Several times. After the ball plus strap is thoroughly coated, they then attack the "ball plus strap" to a larger strap, or a harness, or whatever.

Mr. S offers them in three ball sizes, and two colors of coating. (If you look at the pictures of the red ones, it's easier to see how the "ball plus strap" is attached to the strap.)
This design means that there's no hole through the ball, where food and things can hide from cleaning. It also means that the strap, where it comes out of the ball, doesn't make an immediate right-angle turn. This means that the gag doesn't crush the corners of your mouth.
I highly recommend it. For cleanliness, comfort, and long lasting.
(I have heard that all of the "ball plus straps" are actually made by a single company. And that people like Mr. S simply attach their own straps to the "ball plus strap". If so, then it would imply that, if you don't like Mr. S's price, then you could buy from another vendor, get it a bit cheaper, and the part that goes inside your mouth would be 100% identical.)
