It is said that deprivation of oxygen heightens the intensity of orgasm.

I can't imagine being unable to breathe being a pleasant physical experience.
Perhaps the wondering "What comes first, orgasm or death?" adds to the thrill?

With strangling it's usually more the cutoff of blood. It's actually pretty hard to cut off someones air supply just by strangling them. With me having a thyroid 2x what it's supposed to be and hard as a rock it's also painful in ways people don't expect if they try on me : (

Umm… what does whether or not you can breath have to do with your sexual orientation?

It is said that deprivation of oxygen heightens the intensity of orgasm. Don't know if that is just an urban tale. Had a high school classmate whose parents found hanging from a tree limb dressed in woman's clothing. Dead, he was.

Yeah but weather you are gay or straight it will still either heighten the sensation or kill ya, so I'm still wondering what sexual orientation has to do with it.

Why "gay" strangleplay in particular?  I'm trying to think of a difference..... nope.

Try "breathplay" in google.  Sure, you can add "gasmask," maybe even "poppers."  That might make it "gayer."

lol, reminds me of kids who call things they don't like "gay", and i think there's another spelling for it (ghey?).

As for how you get into it, here are some pointers

1) Get into it carefully and with someone you really trust
2) If they ask you to stand on plastic sheeting then regard this as, at the very least, an "amber flag"
3) Any bottles of two stroke engine oil might hint at the presence of a chainsaw (that'll be a "red flag").

lmao!

I am going to point you to a well-respected source on this topic - and he is in the camp of feeling it is actually extremely dangerous. Read what he has to say. And if you still want to pursue, obviously it is your choice. But be sure anyone you are playing with, especially if they will be the recipient, has read the following, too. The risks are very real, the risks are cumulative, and the risks can involve severe impairment or death. And experts agree that there is no way to actually remove all the risks. I think when a well-respected BDSM expert like Jay Wiseman has these things to say about breath play, it warrants more than just a cursory glance at his position before you accept the risks involved. For your own safety and that of others, please take the time to read these.

I am just wondering is strangleplay the same as autoerotic asphyxiation. Autoerotic asphyxiation involved the restriction of oxygen supply to the brain in order to enhance arousal and orgasm and most of the time this act is performed alone. Does strangleplay fall into this category?

Step 1: Go up to linebacker talk about how effeminate he is and how bad is mother is in bad.
Step 2: ...
Step 3: Profit!

Linebackers hit, they don't strangle. Matter of fact, they'd use their elbow so they wouldn't damage their hands.
