You are presenting as fact an unsupported opinion.

The discussion is necessarily short--it's a non-starter.

"I believe purple aliens are controlling the Coast Guard!" -- that's not going to get far without a case and evidence to support it. Even flimsy evidence.

You have none.

I have a political hypothesis of my own here, Muse. Something about the very mention of Reagan in a thread causes an automatic reflex to foaming at the mouth among typically more thoughtful people. I sometimes wonder if a "2" will start flashing at the temple of Ron's avatar. A red mist across the vision, or something.

Ken decided to take up the nifty new buzzphrase, "dog-whistling," for calling people racists, and I compared it to the piece in question. You don't like the piece in question? Fine. I don't much care for the idea that it now can be called racist to bring up certain subjects in any way.

I guess the actual topic is Santorum...so here's the latest from Bill Maher:

Awesome New Rule (as usual) from Bill Maher on why Rick Santorum doesn't want America's children to all have the opportunity to get a college education.

But I bring up the old tale of the poisoned apple — no, not Snow White, that's a fairy tale — (gives audience a pointed look) because the Adam and Eve story is taken literally by half the country, and it's no coincidence that the type of tree which God forbade Adam and Eve eating from was the Tree of Knowledge.

Rick Santorum home-schools his children because he does not want them eating that fucking apple! He wants them locked up in the Christian madrassa that is the family living room, not out in public where they could be infected by the virus of reason. If you're a kid and the only adults you've ever met are mom and dad, well then, they're also the smartest adults you've ever met. Why not keep it that way? Why mess up paradise with a lot of knowledge? After all, a mind is a terrible thing to open. (audience applause)

This is also why Rick Santorum doesn't care much for college. It leads to indoctrination, he says. And I agree. It indoctrinates you into the world of ideas.

Are white liberals disappointed that Obama has failed to carry out many of the things, even debate many of the things, he was elected to do...Hell Yeah!!

Is it racism that we are disappointed? Hell NO!! We'd be just as disappointed if Obama were white.

Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil, actually.

FR,

In case anyone else was wondering:

Urban Dictionary: mouthbreather

1. literally, someone who lacks enough intelligence that they never learned to breathe through their nose.

2. a really dumb person.

Just keep thinking HappyThoughts<tm> Butch... things will get better.

(thinking back to days when 'someone' was desperate to demonize thousands of protesters over what amounted to malicious mischief on the part of maybe a dozen of them).

As long as your party/movement keeps tools on hand like Limbaugh, I very much doubt this is more than whimsy

Yeah, I hear you there. A few non-perverts don't know what putting your testicles in somebody's mouth is called, and the whole bunch gets slandered with it to this day... [8|]

Oh. Sorry. Topic.

Santorum sucks!

I'm sure Santorum would say...as would I...[;)]... "It was not demonizing thousands it was trying to get leadership to realize the damage those dozen were doing to the movement and take responsibility."

quote:

Santorum would also say…“damn Stern why do you keep putting Butch in the Republican party...I hate his guts… the pompous sanctimonious bastard.”[:D]

Ummmmm that's a pretty weird dodge of your original rants.

Funny how MY response to your latest sanctimony mentioned no party preference. Wait though...through the magic of the internet, one can just 'conjure' it, can't they?[8D]

Go back and read again my posts now that time has gone by and you we see the lack of leadership, direction, and responsibility was ALWAYS my point not the movement itself...right or wrong.

Unless Limbaugh is not a Republican then I don't know how else to interpret " As long as your party/movement keeps tools on hand like Limbaugh"

Hey guys can we cool it with the inflammatory post titles here? President Reagan brought this country together and whatever has gone wrong since he left office if we can find a way to come together as a unified America rather than tearing apart into little splinter groups then I believe we can become competitive in the global marketplace again. I don't know enough about either Romney or Santorum yet to know which man I trust more, but I think everyone can agree it's time we have someone in the White House who can unite us again as one proud country.

Every President wants to unite us... the problem is: What do they want to unite us as?

We had it with Clinton...[:D] Just don't vote for Santorum or SternSkipper...if he runs. I will graciously accept your nomination and vote however.

I work in business, and I can say for certain there is zero trust among the movers and shakers for the bozo in office right now. I mean hey I know class warfare is all the rage and all the college kids and pinkos want us to turn into the Soviet Union but like it or not, when everybody else digs themselves into a hole it's up to those of us in business to dig the country out. Either Romney or Sanatorum could unite business. In the coming months I am sure we'll have some tete a tetes over some power lunches and come to a consensus but between now and then I think it's important to let the blue collar grunt voters have their turn and say what they need to say before the convention when the adults get together and hash things out. At this point the economy and the nation are circling the drain and I think everybody is just about ready to call an end to whatever little "experiment" the country decided to try out four years ago.

Class warfare comes from above. Reagan really started it when he fired all the air traffic controllers, which gave social license to private buisnesses to fire all of their union workers.

Let me ask you something. If you ran a buisness, would you hire someone because you had the money to, or because you had the buisness to? Consumer spending is what drives a properly functioning capitalist economy, not the rich having more money.
