politics = poly + tics = poly (many) + Tics (blood sucking creatures) = politics = many blood sucking creatures..

American (any given country of choice) election= The wealthy person owned by the more wealthy people will run against the wealthy person owned by the more wealthy people.. IN THE END THE WEALTHY PERSON WHO IS OWNED BY THE MORE WEALTHY WILL WIN.

Why is it we as Americans not only realize all this but also realize that congress is 110% completely corrupt yet almost always choose our next president from the halls of congress?

Do we really think he will all of a sudden forget all the corruption or favors he owed in congress?

How about term limits for congress and an end of the pay check as soon as they walk out of office? At least that way we force a new dynamic and perhaps by forcing in fresh blood reduce some of the corruption and stagnation?

While we are at it dont you people think maybe the supreme court toilet should be flushed and replaced every so often rather then let these people continue to guide our country who cannot even drive a car??

Nope. Obama was from Congress. W wasn't, nor was Clinton. I don't think that HW was. Reagan wasn't, nor Carter... should I go on?

We've had 44 presidents; 18 never served in Congress.

Washington, J. Adams, Jefferson, Taylor, Grant, Arthur, Cleveland, T. Roosevelt, Taft, Wilson, Coolidge, Hoover, F. Roosevelt, Eisenhower, Carter, Reagan, Clinton, and G. W. Bush.

I am doing this from memory but ...

Cleveland, Teddy Roosevelt, Taft, Wilson, Coolidge, Franklin Roosevelt, Carter, Reagan, Clinton and Bush (II) were all governors. Weren't they?

That made them command-in-chief of their respective National Guards LOL

Peace and comfort,

Michael

Seventeen State Governors have subsequently become President :

Van Buren, Cleveland, T Roosevelt, FD Roosevelt - NY
Polk - Tennessee

Wilson - NJ
Coolidge - Mass

In addition, Andrew Johnson served as military governor of Tennessee during the Civil War,
Andrew Jackson was territorial governor of Florida ,

So Washington, J. Adams, Grant, Arthur, Hoover, and Eisenhower served neither in Congress nor as governors.

I did pretty well. I only got "Taft" wrong. I'm impressed with my faulty memory
