MistressDarkArt -> FlyingKahuna: Cinderella At The Ball (3/12/2012 11:02:22 PM)

Imagine my surprise when last Monday I opened a CMail inviting me to a formal VIP screening of 'Citizen Kane' at Hearst Castle. It was from a guy in SF I'd never heard from or seen before on CM. He vetted well: I checked up on his business's Yelp reviews, Facebook, and anything else Google churned up. It was all good. He has a truly interesting philanthropic background. We enjoyed a pleasant phone conversation where he had me laughing straight away...always a good sign. I said 'yes'.

I offered to meet him near the event so he wouldn't have to add 80 miles to his already long drive. He insisted on door to door service, if I was comfortable. I was. I kiddingly asked him to bring a couple fresh dungeness crab from Fisherman's Wharf, then scrambled around for something elegant to wear because he would be in a tux.

He stayed in touch every day until Friday, showed up right on time, and brought the delicious crab which I devoured on the spot. We had a gorgeous sunset drive up the coast to the castle. There was a reception before the screening and the spread was magnificent. I had so many profiteroles and ate so much Cambozola I deserved a heart attack then and there. FlyingK was an ever-attentive Prince Charming, keeping me entertained with witty conversation, refilling my plate and making sure my water was topped up. The presentation before the movie was as interesting as the film itself. Seeing Citizen Kane on a 5 story screen just topped everything. I really did feel like Cinderella at the ball. The drive home with a full moon over the ocean...gorgeous. He had to work in the morning, so after a caffeine boost of coffee back at my place he drove back to SF...600 miles round trip to take me out to a gala event.

He lists himself as a Dom, but every sub male here could learn a thing or twenty from him about service.

My thanks to FlyingK for an awesome evening, and to CM for connecting us. He's a true gentleman in every sense and a great person. Guys, if you want to get and hold a woman's attention, ask FlyingK for lessons.

CRAB = http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dungeness_crab

Nom nom nom nom, more for me!!

The movie version starred w/Orson Wells and was made in 1941. It was a a rough takeoff on William Randolph Hearst (newspaper magnate) that cast him in a very unfavorable light. Hearst refused to see the movie. What is noteworthy about the showing is that it took place 71 years later at the castle (subject of the movie, representing Hearst), coordinated by and approved of by his grandson Steve Hearst.

Cambozola too, Madame? Puff-pastry baked brie with berries and pecans? Hearst Ranch beef kabobs? Damn, I'm getting hungry.
