I was buying vitamins in the store, standing next to a vibrant but much older woman. She was had bright eyes, a spring in her step and was looking through the various brands of vitamin B, as was I.

I made a comment about the many varieties when she proffered her favorite brand proclaiming she was 85 and had been taking them for years. I took the bottle and thanked her, saying “I hope I’m in as good shape as you when I’m your age”. Then I flexed and said, “I need all the vitamins I can get because I want to stay strong . . . I like it rough”. She leaned over and whispered, “sticks and stones may break my bones but whips and chains excite me”… followed up with a wink.

I tell you this story about the health conscious kinky old lady because there have been some other threads and comments about age, sex and BDSM or kink. My dad lived a D/s lifestyle and was active with his girl until the day he died at the age of 75. Everhope is my age and she is as sexy, sick and twisted as anyone of any age. My ex is 14 years my senior and turned 70 recently. She had the medical equivalent of a total restoration job. Nonetheless, although the cosmetic surgery makes her look younger, it’s her attitude that makes her youthful and sexy. Like everhope, my ex, the spunky 85 year old lady in the store and my aspirations stay physically fit so I can keep playing rough in my old age . . . it’s all about your attitude.

If you think life and the pleasures of sex and BDSM end at age 40, 50 etc, it will. If you think growing older, getting married or having kids will make you too “mature” for kinky pleasures or lifestyles . . . it will. Your life and lifestyle is a choice. It’s only your choice and not someone else’s. I have lived under many conditions, wealthy, poor, kids, wives, poly, mono, slaves, subs etc… but for me there has always been one thread of commonality. I never sacrificed my passion, romance or the leather. I don’t expect I ever will . . . like that old lady, you will probably find me at the age of 85, buying vitamins and whispering kinky expressions to strangers.

I plan to be subservient and obedient to him for as long as I'm capable of doing so, until I get too old to do otherwise or until I go senile lol.
This is one of the big reasons we both try to live healthier lives. It's something we've talked a lot about lately. We both know we've slipped in that area lately but we're in the process of getting back on track with that together so we can be with one another and enjoy doing the things we love together for as long as possible.

^ I had an injury that prevented me from working out. I kept eating like I was working out and I grew fat. I adjusted my diet, got a Total Gym because the cable system allowed the flexibility to work around the injury. I lost 39lbs and recovered from the injury . . . joined the gym yesterday because I am finally strong enough to work out in the regular equipment now. Like you, I value my health and understand hoe it directly effects my performance, attitude and disposition. I want to "enjoy doing the things we love together for as long as possible" too.

I think that story is awesome. I think you are only as old as you feel. of course she may not be able to do some of the things she once could( referring of course to the elderly woman)but, Im quite sure she still has fun in her life. that is what makes that story awesome.

I didn't bust out with a wall-o-text about her but I could have. That old lady had the charm and sensuality that only 85 years of experience could have fostered. Meeting her really was an endearing experience. Some people love life and it shows. The older they get, the more their joys and passions accumulate, becoming part of everything they do, even vitamin shopping.

Srsly, though....we have only adjusted play for my occasional neck spasms & back issues. We do seem to get kinkier by the day.

I always get refreshed when I hear stories about older people still living their lives to the fullest. In my profession I often see patients who've thrown in the towel or succumbed to chronic illness and it's awful really. For a vanilla story, 1 of my favourite patients was a 98 yr old who still lived independently. Only a year ago she started paying a man to do her laws (because it was too hard to start the mower)!

We will play it by ear here. If the time comes that my sex drive dissappears (like at menopause for instance) that wouldn't make my Husband any less of a dominant or any less in charge. No reason we can't continue a D/s relationship. But whether or not we will still play the way we do now in bed, that I don't know. I guess it depends what we feel like doing at the time.
