I heard Rick`s only goal is to deny Mitt enough delegates for an outright win before the Aug. convention.

Go Rick!

That's his only option.

Yay Waffle House! The universal destination/refuge throughout the South when the bars close.

Santorum is obviously the SBC candidate.

Romney will probably win nationally, largely due to the likelihood he'll live up to his last name, which is going to make him attractive to the GOP core, and a more general perception that he isn't completely insane.

Go Rick!

I did a rough estimate of the delegate count, and if the rest of the primaries go as have thus far, Romney will come up roughly 100 delegates short of the nomination. So which would you prefer? Drippy-shit or Goongritch for VP?

Nope. That's his primary goal. His secondary goal is to somehow convince the power that be that he's a better candidate than Romney and get the nomination on the second ballot. If his sole goal was to deny Romney, he wouldn't be asking Gingrich to drop out. If Gingrich DID drop out, the lion's share would go to him, but a fair percentage would go to Romney as well, increasing the chance that Romney will win outright.

Santorum's delusional if he thinks he has a chance in a brokered convention. He's assuming he'll utter the magic incantation "true conservative" and all the delegates will swoon. In actual fact, the PTB is terrified of a Satorum ticket because they know that the resulting Dem landslide will have enough of a coattail effect to hurt the GOP in Congress. There'll be tremendous pressure on delegates to commit to Romney, and it will be blogged and tweeted and fray the GOP's fabric.

But as crazy as he is, his staying in gives whatever percentage of republicans there are that still give a shit about fairness a brief respite before they go in the tank for the wall street bag job candidate
