Santorum Smokes EVERYBODY in Alabama and Mississippi ... Newt is definitely on the ropes, but is refusing to step down.

The South is gonna be weird for Ole Mitty

My happy interpretation is come the general election
Mitt is going to struggle in the south.
Low voter turn out in November for the
Republicans.
But if Rick tilts it and ends up the nominee
I think he will struggle mightily nationally.
But I think this was an anti Mitt vote more
than a pro Rick vote.

I'll be the first to admit I am short on specifics in regard to the abduction process.... But there are plenty of Cons online and that most of them know every excruciating derail of the specific process.

Have you not seen that Communion film where they had Christopher Walken playing an even bigger nutcase than he usually does?

mnottertail -> RE: Another Crazy Night For The GOP (3/14/2012 7:05:23 AM)

He was playing?  Good Lord, I thought it a documentary.

Meh. The alien endorsement doesn't really mean that much... what really counts is the Bigfoot endorsement.

Moonhead -> RE: Another Crazy Night For The GOP (3/14/2012 7:14:38 AM)

Bigfoot's a liberal, though.

Well, he is definitely a tree hugging environmentalist but his views on women's issues tend to be a bit primitive.

A Southern state win for Mitt Romney was not to be tonight: with a coalition of voters much like those that propelled him to victory in Tennessee and Oklahoma, Rick Santorum won the Alabama primary with support from conservative voters, evangelicals, lower income voters and women.

Women?!?

And why not? Santorum dismissed Limbaugh's words outright. Romney showed the leadership of a bowl of pudding and wimped out something about how he might have possibly used different words.

Women?!?

[:o][:-][&o]

With Romney reiterating how he is going to 'get rid' of Planned Parenthood, I'm not surprised that women voted for the only guy that called Rush out. I think ol' Mitt must have missed the Komen/PP bruhaha or something. When they all look the same the 'lesser' evil vote can go to a single tie breaker. I think calling out Rush could have been the tie breaker for the southern women's eye and helped Santorum hit the win.

Looking strictly at math, Paul needs to win almost every state that remains but he may just be too stubborn to pull out and I will be surprised if, when he does pull out, that he will give an endorcement to any of the rest.

The Gingrich camp is already talking about the VP slot with a Santorum nod but I don't think that Newt realizes just how much he is disliked by Santorum. The body language and such is so obvious when they are in debates together that I do believe that Newt is somewhat clueless about how people really feel about him. A nod for VP in a Santorum presidency is highly improbable.

I am going to cast a strategic vote in the primary.. one that is designed to create a brokered convention just because I would love to see the history of it and, ultimately, I really don't think it matters which of the 4 gets the nod.. I can't see any of them winning the general with what's been going on with 1100 some odd bills regarding women's health etc across all the states. I have to say that the only way I'd be having more fun this cycle would be if Hil had gone after Obama.. that would have been WAY cool! Ah well. Obama gets to keep the majority of his war chest because he's running unopposed. Good on him.

I don't think Newt realize just how much he is disliked widely, including by Republicans.

That too but most of the rest of us don't get to choose who we want as our VP running mate. [:D] Palin made a little quip about a brokered convention, too. Wouldn't that be a hoot!

fucktoyprincess -> RE: Another Crazy Night For The GOP (3/14/2012 11:17:13 AM)

FR

I think people underestimated the South's evangelical (and even mainstream Christian) uneasiness with Romney's Mormon faith.

I think if I were a Republican woman, maybe Santorum seems more palatable. Only registered Republicans can vote for the nomination. So we are talking about a self-selected group of women here. The ones who are already in denial about the party that they support and its track record on women's issues. What does one expect?

Why not?
Are you kidding,Rick thinks woman belong in the kitchen or delivering babies.
His is the prototypical 50's household viewpoint....A Santurom Presidency(it will never happen....lol) will set back woman 50/60 years.
But have no fear,a Santurom candidacy means the Democrats will have no worries about getting out the vote [:)]
