Insurance is all about pooling risks. Which means I have to pay for the health problems of people who are overweight, or who smoke...

My insurance coverage charges higher premiums for smokers than non-smokers. I think that'd be a fair way to do it, and expanding it to charge higher premiums for other criteria that don't apply to everyone would alleviate my objection with insurance paying for things such as contraceptives.

And who gives a shit if an employer fires a woman for using birth control. Employers have the right to fire anyone for whatever reason they want to.

In reference to the above post.. and others concerning the firing and at-will states.

An employer certainly as the right to fire anyone they desire. IF they do so baed upon discrimination, they can be fined, they can have to pay unemployment. The EEOC is full of such decisions against employers.

The Arizona law allows for discrimination against women taking birth control by deleting that section I posted earlier.

Yet, your argument is faulty. There are more complications, and expenses, associated with pregnancy and giving birth than using contraceptives. Smokers are charged more because their bills tend to be higher due to different chronic illnesses associated with smoking.

If you're in favor of the existence of government then by definition you're a socialist.

We are to take it from this that you are not in favor of such existence, then? Careful what you wish for. You'd be dead in less than five minutes from opening your mouth in such a situation, not even mentioning anything about politics.

You object to the way an artificial legal entity spends their assets, and you think your opinion matters?

Wait. Do you REALLY think that the money in the Insurance Company's BANK ACCOUNT is in any way 'yours'?

Are you *seriously* advocating a communist model where the means of production is owned in common by The People? ( in this case, the insurance companies assets used for investment )

Amazing. It's like people have never seen money and have no idea how it functions.
