Let's have a look at the political 'innocence" of Herr Limbaugh

What's wrong with Rush Limbaugh? Plenty

John Diaz

Sunday, March 11, 2012

The "dating" website Ashley Madison, which specializes in arranging extramarital affairs, gave Rush Limbaugh quite a gift last week. Its advertising offer gave the talk-radio king a chance to change the subject from his vulgarity and fleeing sponsorships. It gave him an opportunity to moralize. About integrity. About credibility.

"We do not (accept) sponsor companies that help people cheat on their spouses," Limbaugh told listeners Thursday. "We have not accepted (their offer). We have never run ads from (them). We never will.

Limbaugh further called a Washington Post columnist's report that he had accepted such an ad an "out-and-out lie" and a "blatant example of what journalism has become."

Imagine that. A commentator who had trashed a Georgetown law student with misogynistic glee - calling her a "slut" and a "prostitute," recklessly speculating about the extent of her sex life, suggesting she owed him and other taxpayers a video peek - was lecturing about truth and morality.

It must have been an equally sweet moment for Ashley Madison, which orbits in the same shockosphere as Limbaugh, where outrageousness is the currency that yields attention. Ashley Madison didn't have to pay a dime for this round of advertising.

It would be one thing if Limbaugh were on the fringes of political discourse. He is not. His show runs on 600 stations. He has a contract for $50 million a year. At times, he has served as unofficial voice of the Republican Party. His influence is such that the GOP presidential candidates treaded lightly in criticizing his sickening, sustained assault on Sandra Fluke. Front-runner Mitt Romney said, "It's not the language I would have used."

Is there a kinder, gentler way to gratuitously claim that a woman you've never met was having so much sex that she could barely walk?

But wait, There's more...

You left out the best part!!!!!

"It was depressing because what it indicates is, the Republican leaders are afraid of Rush Limbaugh," conservative commentator George Will said on ABC last Sunday. "They want to bomb Iran, but they are afraid of Rush Limbaugh."

I didn't copy the whole article out of respect for our Mod... A while back Delta indicated there might possibly be copyright issues if we quoted whole articles.
