...I rarely hear about Asian/Indian/mid-Eastern people deported.. I am sure the stats on nationality of those deported would show that its mostly Hispanics..

That's because the whole 'Mex' issue is a tempest in a teapot created by the Radicals for political gain - look at the effort to disenfranchise Latin voters in Arizona, Texas, etc. They simply haven't caught on to the 'Slurpee Indian' threat yet, since they are too busy barking at each other to say anything original. They will in time.

Why is it that people are ok with an Asian/Indian/Middle Eastern person being deported, but they aren't allowed to deport Hispanics?

I'm the furthest thing from a racist and this is quite odd to me. Why are people ok with deporting one ethnicity but are against deporting others?

Even Confucius would be confused by this.

personally, my observations are the opposite,.. there is such a backlash against Hispanics "taking jobs" (that no one wants anyway),.. sending their low wage savings home (somehow hurting America).. blah, blah, blah.. that I rarely hear about Asian/Indian/mid-Eastern people deported.. I am sure the stats on nationality of those deported would show that its mostly Hispanics..

I did not even know that this person was an illegal until reading this thread..

I do not think the now convicted creep was an illegal. He was here going to school as far as I know. My comment was made based upon what I'm reading and experiencing in regard to the backlash and reaction. I agree completely that he should be deported for what he did. Heck, I think his penalty should be higher so as to show others that this type of behavior is not acceptable.

The numbers would indeed show that you are correct in regard to those deported, but there is more and more controversy in regard to deportations and the view/reactions of the people. At almost any given time you will find a case somewhere in America where there is someone to be deported and the big news is on the outcry and protesting in regard to such case.

My comment was in regard to the mentality and actions of people. It was a simple question where I was looking for others input on their understanding of the phenomena.

I completely agree that it all seems to be nothing more than political fodder. I personally don't see much threat from anyone in general populous. OF course there are the few that are indeed problem individuals, but I don't see why there is so much conflict and indifference.

He is not illegal but due to the fact that he has been convicted of a crime, that makes him subject to having his visa revoked. This would lead to deportation.

at this point (actually, several posts back), I would like to respectfully ask the Mods to move this to P&R.

I had intended this post simply to be an update on the status of the case, and hoped for it not to turn into a P&R worthy thread.

I should know better, by now...

I'm glad to hear he was convicted also...maybe there is hope for the human race after all.

....................I hope it brings peace to them also. The piece of trash that was responsible for the death of the one student deserves whatever he gets....and I'm seriously hoping that he becomes someone's bitch in prison...now THAT would truly be justice!

Am I glad the guy is punished? Yes.

I understand the need for revenge, but wishing rape on anyone else is wrong, too (And I admit I've had the very same thought about convicted child molesters, too!!).

The person ultimately responsible for that students suicide is that student. Being cruel to someone else in any circumstance is unacceptable. The suicide is the person responsible for the act.

I see... I really have not been following it much and i dont watch or listen to the news so I am not up on all the details..

sorta 6 of 1, half dozen of the other tho.. although he might disappear once released if his visa hasnt been revoked (or expired?) by the time he has served his sentence... if he was an illegal he would be put on the plane and deported immediately from jail..

There you have the whole story. The problem is not any particular racial or ethnic group, but rather individuals regardless of ethnicity. I have no problem with any group - other than Republicans, of course. They I despise, but they worked hard for it, they earned it, and I am happy to give them what they so richly deserve. A thought for all those who are offended by the irresponsible BS from the Haters and Radicals: consider the source and wear it as a badge of honor.
