I've met some great people through CM, real, intelligent, caring, and I'm thankful for it. But a strange thing happened today: I get a post from a Domina in the East Bay saying, "I'll bet you only collect pen pals. . ." I wrote her back immediately saying, "Well, that's not really true Im also insterested in meeting people, and by the way, I admire your profile and honesty." The post was deleted unread. Sent her another short note which was deleted unread. As someone fairly new here, I have to ask, does this happen often? Some kind of flaming? Strange. steve

Chalk it up to someone trying to bait you into an argument and/or they're being a jerk. She probably did read at least the first part of your message, despite you seeing "deleted unread". A recipient can mouse over the messages in their inbox and read a preview of a message.

Can't say I've heard that one before or that I understand the motivation behind it- seems odd. People do things that are gratifying to themselves, it's not always understandable what's going on to an outsider - maybe 'she' wanted to stir the pot and that was her entire goal. Who knows? She might have been stood up or someone disappeared on her, and this is her way of taking it out on someone else.

What a pity you're so far away, Steve. If you ever make it to Colorado... And sadly no, your unfortunate experience is more the norm than I care to admit. Take it all with a grain of salt, and NONE of it personally, as it surely won't be the last of its kind. Better luck from here on in!

My only guess on this was incorrect. That is something that somebody might randomly mail you if you have tons of hot chicks as 'friends', that you've never met, yadda, yadda. I was glad to see that wasn't the case. Just wanted to pipe up and give the reason why it can happen sometimes.

Something similar has happened to me as recently as last night. A Dom will notice i am online, contact me with some obscure comment/question as if i am supposed to accept their crap. If the email or comment is disrespectful to me, i simply delete it without being goaded into a response. If the email is not disrespectful, i respond with a "thank you, not interested".
