It looks fun to me, and I am neither drunk or high.

Looks like fun but I'd be taking it a damn sight more slowly.

I have a friend who does extreme biking and has won awards for it. To him that would easy compared to what he normally does.

If I wasn't a klutz and afraid of heights I'd do it. It looks like fun. Kinda reminds me of when I was younger and we did stuff like that.

and I ask myself why YOU find all the weird dangerous makes-me-pee-my-pants type vids????

I could not do any extreme sports like that, I dont even like to watch them.. this morning i was watching a movie where they were scuba diving in the Caribbean or some place like that.. beautiful white sand under the clear green water, filled with all sorts of fishies, sting rays and coral.. that is more my style! I could see myself there, doing that.

eta- I have a fear of highs,.. even standing on a chair i do very, very, very carefully.. so you can understand why that vid would make my toes tingle not in a good way!

That clip actually brought back a pretty visceral memory of when I crashed on my bicycle and broke both arms in 7 places so I'll be passing on that. I got back on and rode this last summer for a formal ride, twice, but it took a lot of tears and determination to do it. The clip did look fun to the part of my brain that wasn't scared because of my experience. I like going fast although I am scared of it now. I was going really really really fast when I crashed

I think I'd be too busy concentrating to actually enjoy it lol

Can imagine it would be hell of a satisfying at the end though

Yup that's a mountain biker for you. Even if it isn't on the edge of a cliff, the risks of losing control and getting badly hurt are always there.

good for you, lizi! I remember when you were going through all that! FWIW, I am proud of you for getting back in the saddle, so to speak...

Heck, when I was younger and in better shape taking such a ride wouldn't have fazed me much. I can think of quite a few things crazier than that video. For instance, I think the people who jump out of perfectly good airplanes or off perfectly good cliffs and building are flat out insane.

Hugs....thanks for the kind words. I wanted to say that the thread I started then about what to do and how to get back on that stupid bike again ended up being something meaningful to me. People were so kind, it helped immensely in thinking it through and then doing it. I don't know why it meant so much to me, but it did, and still does. Maybe it's because I'm generally a loner, but I reached out then and got a lot of support and it actually did make a difference. I'm not sure I'd have done it without the support of the people here backing me up. Sounds kind of dramatic and weird but there you have it. So that was twice last summer and this summer i'll be giving it a go again at some point.

I don't think I'd even want to walk that trail, let alone bike it, lol.

The part of my brain that likes going fast digs that. The part of my brain that likes to see what the view is from the high place is saying....nahhhhh, not so much.
