OP: very true. There's dominant and domineering, There's imperious and empirical. Big difference. A bitch by any other name is still just a bitch, no matter what.

GloriousMorning -> RE: A comment that I couldn't say..... (3/18/2012 5:22:33 PM)

Michael, I enjoyed your analogy very much, and how very true!

I can't really comment on this...untill...someone defines the word bitch. I have more than once pointed out to people that what they think is being a bitch isn't really being a bitch. I rather like using the word cuntish. No one likes the word cunt and I personally think it more defines how some people act when they think they are being dominant. In my opinion it can be used on either gender too.

In the context of this post....

I'm what some people call a bitch. I'm educated, opinionated, I say what I mean, I'm ambitious and insecure men seem to feel that I'm not very submissive. In that context, yeah sure....call me a bitch.

In this particular context I was referring to the: deliberately rude, obnoxious and brow beater definition. If the only way you have control is because of fear, then you're not really in control.

I have never believed that I was anything but non-aesthetically pleasing.
You are incorrect and your personality just makes your looks frosting on the cake.

DaddySatyr -> RE: A comment that I couldn't say..... (3/18/2012 5:40:02 PM)

You know, I've always loved the ability of people to put down others without the others really realizing it.

My favorite example:

"Thank you for sending me the galleys of your new book. I'll waste no time, reading it." ... Sir Winston Churchill

I know this thread is about things you just can't say. Unfortunately, most of my life has been about not having that particular filter. I guess I must be getting better at it, though.

Peace and comfort,

Michael

LadyHibiscus -> RE: A comment that I couldn't say..... (3/18/2012 5:44:31 PM)

You've said some seriously douchey things, Michael, but you stand behind your words, and that counts for a lot.

Syl, I wasnt thinking of Elsewhere, either, that was a whole other realm.

DaddySatyr -> RE: A comment that I couldn't say..... (3/18/2012 6:00:44 PM)

and here's a case in point...

LadyHibiscus -> RE: A comment that I couldn't say..... (3/18/2012 6:13:50 PM)

What? Damning you with faint praise? [:D]. No offense, Michael, just how I perceive you.

MissImmortalPain -> RE: A comment that I couldn't say..... (3/18/2012 6:33:30 PM)

Thank you for answering me. Your response is actually why I asked for the word to be defined. What you (seem to me) to be talking about are abusers. I wouldn't call those bitchs. To be honest I have never met a bitch I was afraid of. Maybe because I am one myself. I have however meet abusers, people that feel that through physical power believe they can control others, that I have been afraid of. I stand by what I said before....cuntish. Warm, wet, floopy, loud, and commonly full of nothing but themself.

*oh* and I agree with what you said about control.

Ya........I am okay with being called a bitch most times also. I have come to the realization that most people doing the calling are showing their own insecurities and not my faults.

That doesn't mean that there are not times I am being rather bitchy, I certainly have my moments. But oddly enough those moments get less reactions than when I am just standing up for what I believe in, and often times defending the underdog.

But none of that really has anything to do with the concept of the OP. I've discovered that the old adage my grandmother and great aunt used, 'You catch more flies with honey than vinegar.' holds true.

My sincere bitchiness tends to be saved for when the honey failed.

I also think that a LOT of dominant sorts that do the whole 'bitchy dom' routine are just insecure in their own skin. They usually have the photos that back it up.

in another forum.

If the only way you can gain the control of a submissive is to be a bitch......it doesn't make you dominant, it just makes you a bitch.

I'll get the world's largest tub of popcorn and watch while all of the submissives of the world sit around a big table and draw up a consensus of what constitutes "dominance" .

LadyHibiscus -> RE: A comment that I couldn't say..... (3/19/2012 2:44:47 PM)

Most people describe me as sweet and friendly, and that's the truth. I can *be* bitchy, but it's a long way from my default setting. Lots of those bottomy menfolk love that bitch goddess stereotype but would that really want that in a partner? Imagine how exhausting to have to be a fishwife just to get what you wanted!

LaTigresse -> RE: A comment that I couldn't say..... (3/19/2012 2:44:53 PM)

I don't think the popcorn will be necessary. Perhaps a few ambulances.

We could also have a debate on what constitutes one of those weal and twue slaves/submissives.........but that would be even deadlier.

I even say please and thank you most of the time..........I should probably have my card revoked.

LadyHibiscus -> RE: A comment that I couldn't say..... (3/19/2012 3:19:14 PM)

You are a princess, too! Yay!

littlewonder -> RE: A comment that I couldn't say..... (3/19/2012 5:09:10 PM)

you know the only place I have ever been called bitchy is on collarme, usually by men who are angry that I won't submit to them. <shrug>. In real life people seem to either find me quiet or sweet or helpful.

I just usually ignore bitchy people whether it be here or in real life. They're just not worth my effort.

Winterapple -> RE: A comment that I couldn't say..... (3/19/2012 6:50:38 PM)

FR
Depends on whose calling you a bitch
and in what context.
I could care less if someone online calls
me a bitch.
My mother once called me a little bitch
(as an adult) in the negative sense of
the word and I deserved because I was
behaving like one.
Don't think anyone has ever thrown
it at me during a disagreement or
anything offline. But I don't doubt
I've been referred to as a bitch on
occaision perhaps with just cause.
I'm a polite person but I've said things
in a teasing way that were taken in
the wrong way. Sometimes people
misunderstand other people.
I'm on the shy side and that has been
interpreted at various times as stuck
up or cold. And sometimes all a woman
has to do be called a bitch is to stand
up for herself or what she believes in.
Bitch can also be from the right person
as much of an endearment as darling.

Winterapple -> RE: A comment that I couldn't say..... (3/19/2012 6:55:07 PM)

I wish there was a thread for posts of things
that for whatever reason can't be said in
other threads.
The posts I was going to reply to in
a P&R thread have disappeared, deemed
to have wandered off topic, I suppose.
So, Mr B I owe you a post on the Spartans
and Edwynn I owe you one on a
peacetime draft.

Yup, cause if I typed out that sentence aimed at the person that deserves to read it......I'd get a gold embellished email.

TNDommeK -> RE: A comment that I couldn't say..... (3/19/2012 7:31:40 PM)

I got a gold email. I probably should read the rules. :(
