It's hard to go wrong when you use "I" statements and easy to go wrong when you diss other posters rather than discuss the topic.

If something is particular egregious, don't quote it in your reply or your post will get pulled when the offending post does. If you put a lot of effort into a post on a controversial thread, do save it in a separate file.

Although this is covered under not speaking ill of other posters, here's something that's not spelled out in the rules - you cannot suggest that a poster is on/needs medication or therapy.

Although I see this all the time, you cannot quote from a poster's profile if your intention is to "draw negative attention." It's ok when they solicit profile advice.

And then there are some of us that have days we just purely don't give a damn. If it stays it stays. If it gets pulled it gets pulled. If I get a sparkly gold letter then I do.

In the grande scheme of life.......it's not much of a speed bump at all. Apparently in December (I was unaware or if I was aware I promptly forgot) someone decided the site needed to be a kinder, gentler, playground for the chillins. Shit gets pulled now that didn't before. That explains the sharp decline in 'interesting' around here. I've found myself spending less time here, posting less, because it's been less interesting.

Regardless, when I am here, I am going to continue to type most of whatever pops into my head after reading.

You're correct, moderation increased in late December and shortly thereafter the Fearsome Foursome exited stage right. IMO, both contributed to the new tone.

I'm fine with the high moderation in Introduce Yourself and ambivalent about the increased modding in P&R.

I'd have to say I agree with LaT, I feel I'm being fake if I don't put what I feel or think. I try not to be negative of others, I tried to make it a funny (in the instance I got the letter for). But I assume the OP didn't take it that way, nor the Mods.

I like this... strong women have always been friends of mine. Now, Lady Hib's comment about asshole...well, I used to have references but they are no longer in my life. Well, not much at least.
