I don't know about pissed. Those guys just showed that a ew iPad can survive a 4-foot fall from any angle except flat on the screen. That's good design and PR.

The only person belittling others in this thread is you. Perhaps you should re-read and comprehend a post before you comment on it.

Perhaps you should follow your own crude advice, first. For example, last I checked, sentences require capital letters at the beginning of them.

its not, & it can not survive a 5-foot fall from whatever angle you would like,
- when you make something like "Ipad" from scartch & some young dude, came buy one just to break it,
- or you made a persentation & your kid came & puked all over it,...... at least it did not survive a 2 years old boy piss test.. right & you are not going to be pissed right?

I remember back at 1998 after Daiana accedent Mercides did aired a 45 minutes commercial about how safe their cars, ... (what i meant is its about company reputation) is it not?

NEW YORK (AP) — Apple is finally acknowledging that it has more money than it needs. But don't expect it to cut prices on iPhones and iPads. Instead, the company said on Monday that it will reward its shareholders with a dividend and a stock buyback program.

Apple, the world's most valuable publicly traded company, sits on $97.6 billion in cash and securities.

What would the company care? The guy bought an iPad just to break it. That's his money wasted, not Apple's. Besides, it did survive the first two falls just fine. It was the screen-first fall that broke it.

However its things like these videos that keep people from spending their hard earned money on these kinds of items... So in theory it could cost apple a few thousand dollars

Status: offline 		I'm not sure there is much for Apple to be upset about considering the reviewing company showed an upgraded test result from the previous generation of the same product. I am not an Ipod or Iphone fanatic, but I must admit that this video shows a quality product in regard to true life accident type events.

The iPad withstood a fall onto its back from 4 feet up. Then it withstood a fall from the same height, landing on a corner. I'd never even *think* of dropping mine from that height. But it's nice to know I don't have to worry so much about it. Seems to me like the video will appease any who think the iPad is too fragile.

Im 5'7 meaning if i drop my Ipad, or what ever its going to be higher then from 4 feet.

If the corner (which was dented badly) would get as such at 4 feet, I wouldnt buy it.

Since its likely in an accident to fall on its face then its back, i again most likely wouldnt buy the product because of the damage.

Its why i stick with androids, Ive dropped my current phone from a first story drop by accident, the only thing that broke on it was the case, no scratches no nothing other then then need to spend another 30 bucks on a damned good case.

You do realize you're comparing a tablet computer with a much smaller and lighter phone, right? If you'd be so careless with a computer that you'd drop it from that height, you may not want to buy one at all, regardless of he maker. I've had the original iPad since fall of 2010, with almost daily use at home, work and college. It hasn't gotten a mark on it. Of th smart phones I've had, only two were ever dropped, one of the early black berry models and one of the more recent versions. Each got only a minor scratch on it.

Im clumsy, Its why i otterbox my phone, its why i carry accidental insurance on my macbook, my dell, and my cell.

Its why make sure the cases and protection i put on my electronics is adequate...

I was given a galaxy tab from VZ to play with and try out... I dropped it 5 times in the 3 months i had it.. I dropped it on its face more then once...

It didnt crack or break.

Ive dropped phones in soup, in the toilet, in a pot of pasta sauce.

I live in the real world and sadly small children are a part of that world...

However the otterbox.. you can submerge that thing... and no water gets in...

+1 for an otterbox for the ipad

While using a computer, no. I'm usually sitting down while handling a multi-hundred dollar device bought with my hard-earned money.

Then a video showing an unprotected tablet computer sustaining damage after a 4-foot fall shouldn't dissuade people who are planning to buy a case for it anyway. If these things were meant to be truly indestructible, the market for super strong cases would be non-existent. Besides, there are protection/insurance plans you can buy with the device that will replace it for free even if you are the one who damaged it.

Either way, a company being "pissed" that someone spent money on ther product just to break it. Once it's bought, a person can do anything they want with a product.
