Status: offline 		I just read another poster stating in round words that the whole Rush thing is now over with and the advertisers are coming back (well, "some" as he put it)... I Guess they don't get the 'Yahoo News' in St. Louis....

Flush Rush, Toilet Paper Arrives at the State Capitol

JEFFERSON CITY - The tale of Rush Limbaugh joining Missouri celebrities at the state Capitol continues to unravel. This time, women activists have joined the fray, opposing the radio personality’s induction into the Hall of Famous Missourians.

Members of the state chapter of the National Organization for Women delivered 504 rolls of toilet paper to the office of the Speaker of the House Monday as a part of their “Flush Rush” campaign. The campaign was designed to protest the Speaker’s choice to place a bust of Rush Limbaugh in the Hall.

“Rush Limbaugh is a misogynist and a bigot and a bully and we don’t need a role model like that in Missouri,” said Claire Major, the vice president of the Missouri NOW chapter.

Earlier this month the Speaker, Rep. Steve Tilley, R-Perryville, said he would induct Limbaugh into the Hall despite recent controversial comments Limbaugh made about, law student Sandra Fluke. Limbaugh called Fluke a “slut” on his nationally broadcasted show after she spoke in support of the president’s birth control mandate.

Tilley said he would donate however many rolls were sent to his office and he hoped people would continue to exercise their right to protest so that his office could continue to donate goods.

“I would encourage them to send as much toilet paper as they like because I’m just going to donate it to one of the homeless shelters,” Tilley said.

The Speaker said he had not taken Limbaugh’s politics into account and said he chose to honor Limbaugh due to his accomplishments as a nationally syndicated talk show host.

Status: offline 		Once upon a time, there was a Flush Rush quarterly in San Diego (late '90s). Dude got a lot of death threats and really obnoxious voicemail.

It's called free advertising. People on the left make a lot of noise about how terrible he is. Someone on the right hears about it, wonders what all the noise is about and listens to his show. Now I have to admit that I only know a handful of people who actually listen to him, but everyone of them started because they heard the left bitching about him. Someday perhaps he will go to far and get canned for it, but until then he is loving it every time he sees his name in print.
