It didn't take Santorum long to backtrack from this one: "You win by giving people a choice. You win by giving people the opportunity to see a different vision for our country, not someone who's just going to be a little different than the person in there," Santorum told supporters in San Antonio. "If you're going to be a little different, we might as well stay with what we have instead of taking a risk with what may be the Etch A Sketch candidate of the future." This could be taken to mean that should Romney get the nomination, people may as well re-elect President Obama. It didn't take long for a Santorum spokesperson to deny it, saying instead that Obama and Romney are similar, people wouldn't get out and vote if Romney gets the nomination. Romney responded to this gaffe by saying that any of Republican candidates would be better than Obama. So, on the one hand, I'm wondering what all the fuss is about--lets just give Obama his second term--he'd be marginally better than Romney according to Santorum's words. On the other hand, I'm wondering what all the fuss is about--if any of the Republicans would be better than Obama, then what are they (the Republican candidates) fighting over? http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/ticket/santorum-suggests-electing-obama-better-romney-presidency-211531760.html
