Owner59 -> Bratfart douche-bag blogger gets duped by Bono impersonator (3/23/2012 11:08:17 AM)

The punk got punked......[:D]

DC’s “bad boy reporter” just filed a pretty bad piece of journalism.

Jason Mattera — editor of Human Events and known ambush interviewer — recently posted what purported to be an interview with U2’s Bono. In the clip, Mattera tries to go after Bono, suggesting the singer moved his charity’s office to avoid higher taxes. Breitbart.com touted the interview — now removed — as a tax dodge by Bono.

But, just one small problem. It wasn’t Bono. It was an impersonator. A representative for ONE, the real Bono’s charity, confirmed to TPM that the legendary Irish singer wasn’t even in the U.S. at the time of Mattera’s “interview.”

Mattera appeared on Sean Hannity’s radio show Tuesday to promote the clip, saying that “Bono” filibusters forever without any actual explanation.” Mattera didn’t respond to TPM’s request for comment, but he told the Washington Post that he “got punked.”

“I thought I got Bono,” he told the Post’s Erik Wemple. “I didn’t. I got his impersonator apparently. Hats off to him. He got me — and how!” writes Mattera in an e-mail.

That interview and Mattera's assumptions don't even make sense. If Bono's charity is a non-profit, there would be no need move it to avoid paying taxes.

Maybe the Braitbart wannabe should look at the 1%ers who actually do avoid paying taxes by keeping a few head of cattle or sheep on their estates. Like Tom Cruise, who has 248 acres in CO and pays only $400 a year in property taxes because he has a few head of sheep roaming around. Even Sen. Bill Nelson (D-Fl) has saved tens of thousands in property taxes of a few cows he keeps on his land. The law they are taking advantage of was meant to help keep farmers from going under by keeping their property taxes low, not as a tool to allow the uber wealthy to make a mockery of.

He`s an attack/yellow journalist.....the whole point of his approach isn`t news or info but rather misinformation and made-up news.

The right gets absolutely livid when someone with mass appeal disses them or one of their pet issues.

It`s a combo of jealousy, rage and admiration but comes out as petty attacks and cry-babyism.

In this case, they`re trying to make Bono look hypocritical and smear him as a greedy 1%er.But instead look like dumb shits.

Yes, I know this. The right wing is full of people like him. My point was that if he wanted to "expose" a celebrity for avoiding taxes, going after the founder of a non-profit isn't the right way to do so at all. Lets see, yellow journalism, tax avoidance---oh yes, if I were him I would have gone after Nelson, who is a Dem, after all, making him fair game for that sort of thing.
