I laughed myself silly.

I found it 90% true, and really really liked the discussions on alt and b.com.

It's also entirely focused on the bad though.

I consider it satire. Damn good satire. Just like Galaxy Quest sends up every "bad" thing about Trekkies/sci fi/fantasy types. The only thing GQ missed was the furry and BDSM contingent usually at the fringe of any SF&F convention, especially the "media" conventions vs the "literature" conventions.

FrostedFlake -> RE: Uncyclopedia comment about CM (3/25/2012 5:54:03 PM)

Thanks MDA.

Bang on!

I also like the pic of Captain Janeway over Seven of Nine's knee! A Treekie's and a BSDMer's fantasy come true.

------------------

[door slides open]

Janeway: "Tuvok! Oh uhm, I... that is...

Seven: "What Captain Janeway is trying to say is that the inherent mental stresses of always being in command necessitate occasional alleviation of such stresses through the use of BDSM role playing. Since the psychological health of the Captain is of paramount importance to the well being of both ship and crew, I have been assisting her in this matter."

Tuvok: "There is no need to explain. It is well known that the undisciplined human mind must resort to such illogical, yet none-the-less-effective, procedures. I anticipated this situation... which is why I took the liberty of replicating this leather paddle with metal studs. When liberally supplied with sufficient force to the Captain's posterior, it should prove effective in providing the necessary psychological release for the Captain.

Janeway: "Alright! Bring it on you pointy-eared black stud! And while we're at it, where's Chakotay? We might as well bring him in on the fun."

Tuvok: "He is down in engineering replicating something called a french tickler although I confess to be at a loss to explain how tickling French people would assist the situation."

------------------------

General comment: Whoever wrote the article clearly is involved in the BDSM community AND has a self-depreciating sense of humor... a quality I always respect.

Or... it could be an angry looser who couldn't get any no matter where he went looking on the web.

Hey, has anyone heard from Kevin lately?

"rants," "mocking," "endless discussions," "not reading 'tedious' profiles," "typing fantasies," "wannabes," and "whatever" sounds like an encyclopedic description of the CMMB to me.

LoreBook -> RE: Uncyclopedia comment about CM (3/26/2012 8:35:04 PM)

They neglected to mention the gaggle of bitchy PC self-proclaimed subs who try dictate how you word your posts.

While searching for something totally unrelated I stumbled upon this link.[8|]

Interesting little description about CM. Gee, I thought we had the patent on snarkiness here. I stand corrected. Or apparently I should STAND while I'm being corrected. [8D] Who are these uncyclo-whatever people, anyway?

What say y'all?

That is DISGUSTING.....PERVERTED information and I REFUSE to look at it again tonight!

(It is, however, bookmarked).

OMG. I saw this post scroll by the other day, and assumed some middle aged "dominant" guy wrote it, because that's who says this 99% of the time. You saying this makes it hilarious.

And, to a certain extent, I agree. But I don't think it's a sub thing. I think it's a lonely-or-bored woman on the internet thing. Subs may be more vocal because they were more physically damaged in a previous relationship and don't want that to happen to someone else.

Also, just because a woman is vocal, bitchy and PC, does not mean she is wrong.

LoreBook -> RE: Uncyclopedia comment about CM (3/27/2012 9:23:35 AM)

I go with the idea that if the person is attacking the tone of your post it means they have nothing to counter the content.

Some posts are devoid of content, and the only thing to discuss about them is their tone. I haven't paid attention to your own post pattern, no offense intended, so I'm not talking about you personally.

However, because of your age, I can see how your posts could be perceived to be content-free, even if that's not the case. (And perhaps it is, a possibility you need to consider.) Historically, it has certainly been true that some younger posters have understood this stuff a hell of a lot better than some older posters. Here's something that was written by a man just a few years older than you.

Given the social intelligence I can see you have because of your last two comments, with a year or two of real-life play and relationship experience, you might be able to write content like that. I look forward to reading you more.

Or the army of tops with a stick up their arse who seem to think that they're the last word on whether or not somebody they've never met is a submissive or not.
