Like anyone here is going to do your damn research for you. Call the mailing companies and find out yourself.

Actually Fang, people freely share with others- or at least that is my experience.  Some of us actually do maintain friendships with people in other countries. *gasp*

Not everyone pumps out negative energy....one reaps what one sowes, protruding positive energy, attracts positive energy.

Dont show up at any glory holes in this town.....  *chuckles*

*sarcastic tone* sorry to ruin your merry poppins, zippity do da day! *gag me*

Guys like you, get their parking space taken by guys like me.  :-D

Pa Hunk, I think it'll cost about $6-$8 to go to Ireland.
I've mailed stuff over there before and it's about double the rates here.
Be sure to mark the word "GIFT" on the envelope so that the person you're mailing to doesn't have to pay the V.A.T. on it!

I mail 6-8 items to Europe every week. USPS Global Priority mail is $10.50 for items up to 1 lbs. $2 for about every extra lb, up to 4 lbs total.    They provide the bag too! Just wrap your item in bubble wrap.  If you want to use your own box, make sure it is as small as you can possibly make it and still transport your item safely.  MAke sure you choose "gift" on the customs form.

You can print the customs and mailing form on your computer, but you will need the "customs envelope" or it may get returned to you. Most post offices DO stock the mailing bag and the "customs envelope", but you should call them first.  If this is a business, you can get the envelopes and the mailing bags for free at usps.com

Thanks you!  Stef, Popeye1250, and rigidchopper.
:-)

I had heard about the VAT, and would not have know to write gift on it.

I knew someone in this bunch had some experience...  cool.

Thanks!!!  :-)  Have a great day!

Hey Dude, no prob.  The first few times mailed items to Europe I had all sorts of problems getting the procedure straight and over-paid postage a few times.  One last thing, if this is a business, DONT use your business name on the label.  Otherwise they may slap a customs fee on the package even if it is laebeled "gift".

Understood. It is not business- it is from me to a buddy. It is[will be] a 6 hour VHS video tape, to show him American TV. [I havent selected just what yet]

I have to recipricate somehow- he calls often via cell phone- which is expensive. Calls to a Dublin cell phone are expensive. [I have tried phone cards, dial around,,,argh] He asked me to mail him poppers a while back. I refused to, since I seen it is prohibited on a website]

They get different news over there. He will call or text all excited...then I clue him in on what US coverage is.  [white house talking points for the day]  *smiles*

Go for it.  I'm not sure where I picked it up anyway.  It probably has diseases.
