How many threads saying the same thing on the same topic do you plan to start?

April 10th someone will be able to help you connect the dots. If they haven't got grounds to arrest Zimmerman by then, there is supposed to be a hearing to decide what they are going to do about the case. -

I think his lawyer is a crack pot.. he is representing Zimmerman and according to one article i read they have not even met.. according to another article the lawyer apparently said the SYG law does not apply in this case, its just yer regular self defense law thats been around forever but then he says he never talked to his client about that night.. I dunno.. are the news reports wrong or is it the lawyer cant make up his mind cuz he hasnt met his client and talked about the incident??? [8|]

For the last 30 days the media has only been telling one side of the story and getting a lot of folks upset about how this poor defenseless kid got shot by the racist. It's only been in the last couple of days that we've been starting to hear Zimmerman's story.

The innocent kid may not have been as innocent as everyone has been led to believe. Unless they decide to arrest him before the 10th, we'll just have to wait to find out what's going on.

I'm just curious as to why the SPD violated their own SOP in the case and whether the fact that Zimmerman's dad is a retired judge had anything to do with it.

Had they followed their own Standard procedures, I don't feel this debate would exist.

Okay. That reasoning works for about the first 24 hours or so. But no one has been talking about Zimmermans side of the story.

And Florida Criminal Procedure Law is clear. They HAVE the elements of manslaughter, ADMITTED by Zimmerman.

He can tell his story to the Judge at arraignment. That's when pretrial motions for dismissal for self-defense are entertained.

Maybe you should ask yourself, what's up with Sanford PD that they appear to have gone out of their way to commit a conspiracy to obstruct justice, and then you'll discount EVERYTHING THEY SAY.

If you begin with "The Sanford PD is trustworthy", you're doing it wrong.

Again... this has moved beyond SPD. Zimmerman is still free. SPD and Zimmermans daddy have nothing to do with this anymore. We've moved beyong their influence in this. As you say, they can try for a conviction of manslaughter. In order to get a conviction for manslaughter the state of Florida has to charge him with something.

Mysteriously, they have not decided to do that yet.

Frankly, I think think if you're still stuck on "George Zimmerman is guilty, guilty, guilty" without waiting to find out exactly why he hasn't been charged; then you're doing it wrong.

They haven't ARRESTED Zimmerman because no-one has STARTED criminal proceedings against him.

Now, IN THEORY, *I* could file a Felony Information against Zimmerman, the facts are unambiguous.

USUALLY the Court Clerk freaks out if anyone but a cop actually tries to file. So, since the police department which has responsibility decided that they were the judge of the law and juror of fact, and drop the ball. So, now we're down to The State's Plan B, which is the April 10th Grand Jury.

I expect to hear about it, and think its well worth discussing, but he started 3 threads on it yesterday and 2 today, and its only mid-afternoon, who knows how many he'll be up to by the time he heads to bed.

We should start a pool!

He will probably be banned before he rides these ones out.[:D]

Moonhead -> RE: Trayvon Martin goes to the candy store one night.... (3/26/2012 10:35:48 AM)

So his finding the fact that some tosspot has just killed somebody with apparent impunity is out of order, then?

farglebargle -> RE: Trayvon Martin goes to the candy store one night.... (3/26/2012 1:22:53 PM)

I wonder why so many people hate our American system of Jurisprudence where if you kill an innocent kid coming back from the candy story YOU HAVE TO EXPLAIN IT TO A JUDGE and if he doesn't believe your story, EXPLAIN IT TO A JURY?
