He is home schooled so this 10 year old is not a typical 5th grader.
On another level it is a ray of hope about the future.

I love the descriptions of his matter of fact attitude.

I am glad you enjoyed it. There a lot of good lines in the story.

I especially enjoyed this quote from him.

"I'm just learning what my dad and brother taught me, and I'm
applying it to my work," Davis said. "So far, it's been working out."

Not only is he good with robots, he is a master of understatement.
