ORIGINAL: defiantbadgirl "At a later one-hour session on Wednesday, starting at 1 p.m. EDT (1700 GMT), the justices will review whether Congress violated the Constitution by coercing the states to dramatically expand the Medicaid healthcare program for the poor, providing coverage for an estimated 17 million Americans." http://news.yahoo.com/supreme-court-weighs-nothing-healthcare-law-040158352.html I hate the US more every day. What is the point of having MedicAid if it's going to be controlled by the Federal Government? It was supposed to be a State-run medical insurance net for the poor within the State. But, it's not. Drop the name, Rename it Medicare Part E, F, G, or whatever letter they haven't used yet, and let the Fed's run it themselves. I can't be 100% sure, but I think it was a 50/50 fiscal partnership between the States and the Feds before the recession, but massive amounts of money went to the States from the Feds to fund it since. Here we not have an issue where the Federal Government is starting to take over State Government. Not exactly a precedent any State that wants to retain any sovereignty wants.
