Yep. And I'll still be dropping a check in the box on my way home from work on April 13.

Cuz you plain dont get it thats why.
someone say a family of four with an income of 34,500 pays 850 plus 15%.  What are the chances they have a good lot of deductions?  4 x 5000 dependents 20000 at 850 plus 15%. @25% base plus.
Now a guy that makes a million, pays a 100k and 35% of what he cannot deduct.
@10% base plus.

What is the fair share? How can it be fair for one person to have to pay a higher percentage than another? Ron, did you or did you not claim all the deductions and credits you were legally allowed, barring those that would not have been financially prudent considering the time and effort to claim them?

Congress just passed the Paul Ryan Budget plan. Big tax cuts for the rich, is what they say in the Media. They also ignore that the loopholes, credits and deductions are being wiped out to offset the reduced revenues. Does the media care about that? No. If we adopted a 17% flat tax, across the board, would it still be the rich not paying their "fair share?"

Did you look at the second link I posted? Yeah, your eyes probably started to bleed because it was from Heritage.org, but did you look at the bar graph? Did you see where the bottom 50% bar has been getting smaller and smaller? Did you see the Top 1%'s bar getting larger and larger? More tax burden is being shifted onto the shoulders of the top earners. If you would have taxed the top 1% at 100% of every dollar they earned, you would have raked in almost $1.3T more. Has Obama had a deficit under $1.3T yet? Has he even sent out a budget with a deficit under $1.3T? What do you think that top 1% would do if you taxed them at 100% (which also doesn't close the budget deficit)? Do you think they'd go out and work even harder?

Eventually, you run out of money to give to everyone else.

Total AGI: $8.43T US Deficit: $15T+

No signs of slowing down. Paul Ryan's budget plan, if implemented and all the assumptions come true (not likely), his plan will get us back to a balanced budget. In 20 years. That's unacceptable, too. The problem with the Obama Administration is that they kept giving, giving, giving, and then, used that increased spending as a reason to increase taxes. It was never about balancing the budget. It was all about distributing more and more.
