I thought to need a cure you should be sick first.  Maybe I'm the nit but I didn't think being a switch was an illness.  all you can do is laugh and end them on their way.

thank you for writeing that!!!!! That is one of the smartest things Iv heard here!!! :) I love it

Don't get annoyed. Just laugh. If they try to drag you down, it is only because they're beneath you.

Or, on top! or, rolling over n over, Lushious

There's not a single person here, no matter what orientation, that doesn't get told they "aren't really who they say they are" at some point or other.

Switches get it more often I think because people don't get the idea of being outside the basic "dom or sub" box they form in their minds.

You simply smile at the ones who try and deny you, and keep doing what makes you happy.

Yes, thats basically what I have been doing, along with the you're not a 'twoo sub' comments I get, because a switch cannot possibly know how to be really submissive

I haven't had anyone offer to "cure" me but there is a certain amount disdain and intolerance that comes with IDing as a switch.  My suggestion would be to tell them you are more sub than they could ever handle and more Dom than they'll ever be.

LOL  I like that, and I shall remember that for the next one, thanks!

I also have a love in me of topping, it is a different type of love but still important to me.  I personally think that switches make really good tops and bottoms, they know what it takes to top and they know what it takes to bottom.  I think that makes for a great dynamic in a scene and a much better understanding of your partner and what they are experiencing.

I used to try to explain this to everyone who mailed me saying this but I eventually gave up and now just send them, a short  "to each their own" blurb.  Who am I to judge, and better...who are they?   Sorry to vent a little lol.

Vent away, I agree totally with you, I also think it makes for a great dynamic in a relationship. I guess this concept of being a 'true' anything just goes straight over my head and comprehension, when there are so many different varieties of kinks and people out there, how can anyone know what 'true' is.

Hi kitty. If it was me, whenever I received one of those "I'll cure you" messages, send them one back saying "Oh, thank god! Can you also cure me of this raging case of syphllis???".... maybe then they'd leave you  be. Stay strong.

LOL LOL.. I love the way your mind works, that is a great comeback, I wish I'd thought of that one myself for one particular dom who insisted that there was no such thing as a switch as he had a degree in BDSM and knew it all.

*smile*  I'm not sure if its some doms way of keeping all the subs to themselves, after all the less doms there are the more subs they can they have, certainly dont want Switches intruding on the supply 8-)

I see switching as a valid lifestyle choice and think those who offer to "cure" you are being disrespectful.

As a Domme, I get the occasional male dominant who thinks that I am a misguided sub at heart, and he can show Me the way.  Needless to say, he gets a piece of My mind, then gets blocked, LOL.

Lady Topaz

Yes, disrespectful, most certainly, thats what it feels like to me, i'm also bi and I get the same sort of vibe, from both straight and gay people that I ought to just 'make up my mind for once and all'.

Blocking and I are great friends now.

Yeah, you can catch a lot of that if you read some of the old posts in the "ask a switch" forum. You get a lot of the same flack if you're Bi. Folks think you're confused, or you just haven't found the right person yet, or it's just a phase.

I'm not confused. I know who I am and what I like. I like steaming, hot, wet vaginas, and I like big, strong, throbbing cock. I like begging, and I like making somebody beg. I like whipping, and I like being whipped. With the right person, anything is possible.

Don't get annoyed. Just laugh. If they try to drag you down, it is only because they're beneath you.

AMEN AMEN to both of those things, I get that because I'm bi as well, and I dislike being told that I don't know my own mind.. that really pisses me off.

NyxNymph -> RE: Switching as a valid lifestyle choice (6/5/2006 8:25:57 AM)

I id a little differently, "Domme with and exception" lol So perhaps I don't get the same kind of trouble as those who id as "switch" but the only trouble I've found is getting poked fun at for "double dipping" and being told the only reason I switch is to broaden my field since (and I quote) "You're so f*ing nasty you have to desperately play at everybody to hope to get any" I simply said "No, it just takes a lot more than you've got to keep up with me"

ok I switch at times too though I am mostly submissive, switch is a valid life choice dont let anyone tell you that you are confused or can be cured!! you are aloud to want and enjoy both sides anyone who wants to change that isnt right for you

Yeah, but it sure seems to dramtically lower the number of people in my pool of potential partners!

Oh lord.. I wonder if that's the same one who contacted me. Did he use the term 'my dear'.. and was the degree a Ph.D in BDSM? ::laughs::

Oh, come on! Would you really want to boink any of these idjits? They're doing you a favor by screening themselves out before you make a horrible, horrible mistake.

Early in my sexual life, I swore a solemn vow before all the gods of perversion and decadence, that I would NEVER wake up next to someone, and have my first reaction be, "Dear god, what have I done?"

Ouch, that was an exceedingly rude comment, I would have ripped whoever it was a new one, why do people feel like they have to be rude or nasty to get their points across.

Oh good lord, yes, he did, thats what he said he had, and I asked what University offered courses in BDSM cos I sure wanted to enroll. He called me 'my dear' and 'sweet child'  now normally I don't mind those things, but when he said it it just felt soooo wrong  8-)

BitaTruble -> RE: Switching as a valid lifestyle choice (6/5/2006 6:49:12 PM)

Yes! That's the same guy and you responded the same way I did.. he never wrote back to me after that.. guess he figured I wasn't ready for college yet. [8D]

*grin*  I think we're just far too cynical sometimes, ya know 8-)

Though I can imagine that that trick would work with someone who wasn't as experienced or aware, which would be a pity, because I can just imagine the misinformation the poor sub would end up with.
