cloudboy -> CM Matchmaker (3/29/2012 3:38:54 PM)

I stumbled onto an interesting profile of a woman who claimed to be a matchmaker. You contact her, then she would put you in contact with real dominants. In her words, "I do the legwork for you." Without getting into her, I found the information she posted kind of interesting:

I do the leg work to find out who is real and who is not living with there parents. One of the reasons is why I do this, is because that 98% of lesbian dominants are actually men posing as women. Out of the real dominants 83% actually still live with there parents. So that means out of like say 5,000 lesbian dominants, only 100 are real and then out of them only 17 are not living with there parents. Then out of the male dominants it can just get worse, most of them are living with mommy and daddy, with a lot of fakes, wannabes, and con artist. Then there are the dominants who just want a one night stand, and don`t care about your feelings. I have met a few real dominants , and they want to own. So there is hope.

Statistics and actual figures aside, she does describe a real jungle out there. In my years here I have read a legion of criticism about CM and the lack of quality / veracity / lifestyle dominants on the site.

I have to admit there's a real need for such Internet Private Investigators -- a go between who could verify some basic facts behind others' personal profiles. This seems like super-hero work to me if ethically practiced.

"She" sounds like "she's" pissed off and bitter, to me.

BurntKitty -> RE: CM Matchmaker (3/29/2012 3:49:28 PM)

Thanks. Now I have an ear worm. All y'all need it too, now.

Sing-a-long time!

Matchmaker, Matchmaker

An activist trying to solve a problem does not strike me as either "bitter" or "pissed off." She's out there offering a solution, i.e. private investigating services. Assuming she's ethical, I see her oppositely as you suggest.

What's funny to me is that gender-checking and "where do you live," and "do you have a job" can be sorted out rather quickly by a F2F meeting with someone. But, someone from a particular location might be a real source of up-front information -- i.e. knowing who is fake and who is real.

Didn't there used to be a profile on that side that was called "slavetransport" or something like that. The person, transported slaves to Dom/Dommes for a fee. I can't remember. I wondered how that worked, due to not being able to get to know the person you were allowing into your home.

I've reported several such profiles myself. Support deletes them, at least the ones I've reported over the years. Let's just say that human trafficking isn't in the same category as professional financial domination.

Of course, there aren't any human slaves involved. It's yet another 419 scam.

Kaliko -> RE: CM Matchmaker (3/29/2012 5:35:32 PM)

If she were offering private investigating services out there in the real world, I wouldn't hire her based on her poor grammar in advertising. And though there are certainly some people who just plain old have mistakes in their profiles, a constant run of grammar errors suggests fake to me.

I don't think it's a fake profile, necessarily. But I think she is a fake investigator. There is too much emotion and an accusatory tone in the write up to be objectively trying to help. She, or he, has been scammed, and has a bone to pick.

MissImmortalPain -> RE: CM Matchmaker (3/29/2012 5:36:47 PM)

My problem with this would be...how do you know she is real? How do you know she isn't just working a long con that matchs up either herself or her friends with people that ask for her help?

And as for that F2F asking questions things. How does she list herself? Personally I get a bit touchy when women msg me to ask me questions they shouldn't be asking when they don't know me.

Yep. This too. Boy, I didn't even think of that but that is probably more what it is.

Hey, that's the area code for NW Ohio!

LadyPact -> RE: CM Matchmaker (3/29/2012 7:26:40 PM)

If she is charging for this "investigative service", she's violating TOS.

That part aside, I have a very easy solution to this that I have used for years.  Anybody who wants to find out if I'm real, I'll meet you at the next munch that I plan to attend.  Should somebody be too far away to accomplish that, or unwilling to travel, I'm not interested in them, anyway.

jessica6 -> RE: CM Matchmaker (3/29/2012 7:27:27 PM)

Yeah that does seem excessively scammy. If she's offering a professional service, she needs to cite the sources of her "facts," otherwise she can be sued. And I was with a dominant once who still lived with his parents, it was incredibly kinky!!! He had me all bound up tight, gagged and plugged, then tossed a sheet over me in case his mom came in during the night to check on him lol :-D. Nothing like trying to hide a kinky perverted relationship from mom and pop ;-).

littlecherie -> RE: CM Matchmaker (3/29/2012 8:27:01 PM)

I guess it was a good idea - not sure how well it would work technically lol

peppermint -> RE: CM Matchmaker (3/29/2012 8:29:53 PM)

Wouldn't it be easier to just go to munch and meet people in person?

It's called a 419 scam because section 419 of the Nigerian penal code makes such scams illegal. Of course, a great many of such scams originate in Nigeria.

LafayetteLady -> RE: CM Matchmaker (3/29/2012 8:42:39 PM)

Vanilla matchmakers exist, so I can't see why kinky ones shouldn't.  I'm not saying she is one, or if she is, her "advertisement" is a great sales pitch, but why not?

I could see it working like any other matchmaking/dating service (think Patti Stanger).  People sign up for her service, provide her with their "wishlist" and she looks at her other clients who have what the other is looking for and appear to be a potential match.  Then each is provided with say, three options, they choose, have a date and see if they hit it off.

Point being we have agencies that vet employees, help us choose doctors, lawyers, dentists, handymen, plumber and vanilla partners.  Why not one that helps provide kinky ones?

LafayetteLady -> RE: CM Matchmaker (3/29/2012 8:43:40 PM)

Although I would say that to "start" such a business would be more beneficial if started in the local community rather than on line.

StrayCatCharlie -> RE: CM Matchmaker (3/30/2012 12:34:49 AM)

Where does she get data such as "98% are this and of those, 95% are that", eh ?

These types, and the desperately needy that they prey on, only prove the maxim , IMHO, that there is a sucker born every minute.

MissKittyDeVine -> RE: CM Matchmaker (3/30/2012 4:07:20 AM)

And who verifies the verifier? How could anyone be sure of the accuracy of her assessments?

Missokyst -> RE: CM Matchmaker (3/30/2012 8:34:54 AM)

Sounds like a scam to me. I used to know a guy who used another email name (female sub) to promote himself as a safe player when meeting a new submissive.
How the heck does one investigate people without a real name posted? People with real names listed are likely to be professionals anyway. Most of the rest of us prefer to have a bit of anonimity on the net.
IDK.. the idea of some stranger finding out if some other stranger is real or not seems like it would be self serving (for her).
People can be silly online. Only yesterday I saw a profile of a Ca dominant who supposedly belongs to an international group of dominants that expose fake doms and out them to family, co-workers, and friends.
Puffery and blowhards abound.
