Well, at least for places with HOAs. They're going to re-examine their risk and go. Thanks but no thanks. You want a rent-a-cop, we'll hire someone from Wackenhut, and let them deal with the risk.

Or they will do what is done in my neighborhood. Individule homeowners watch their own area. Several on my block have carry permits and would use them to keep our nice neighborhood nice. As a bonus, Wisconsin just passed a 'castle doctrine' law... Go Scott Walker.

"In the past, associations facing legal damages have tried to file bankruptcy, but judges have not looked favorably on such a strategy, Bergemann said. Also, judges have considered the houses in a community as collateral to cover such damages, he said.

In 2006, the state's 3rd District Court of Appeal held the homeowner association for a South Florida community, Lago Grande, partially responsible in a wrongful-death case; property owners there were assessed about $2,000 each to pay the legal judgment."

How do you ensure their personal liability insurance premiums are paid up?

Go Scott Walker.

Once the recalls are over and done, he can go as far away as he wants.

yup.. I pointed that out in one of my posts a few days ago..

so far the family is not talking about suing the HOA but that means squat, really.. things can certainly change,.. suing was the only way the families got OJ..

really tho, even in a small town/city,.. if someone has reason to sue the city and win in court,.. it will be all the city's taxpayers that will pay.. and i have heard of that happening when a developer was unfairly refused persmission to develop his property.. he sued, he won,.. every home owner in the city had to pay...

The end of what neighborhood watch? According to you....

"George Zimmerman was the only member of the Forever Alone Neighborhood Watch he founded all by himself.

There's no Neighborhood Watch there. It's just the cover story Zimmerman used to go peeping in other people's windows, and stalk and kill black kids like they're animals. "

So what is the problem?

Well, considering that the article I posted, and everything else we've discussed has been about Neighborhood Watches in HOA regulated developments other than Z's... It would be Neighborhood Watches in HOA developments other than Z's

I had thought that to be intuitively obvious to even the most casual observer.

The only problem with the theory is that most neighborhood watches in this country are in areas that do not have an HOA. They're just that, Neighborhood Watches, not HOA watches.

Well, Upstate NY isn't a big HOA development place, so if it's a problem, it's not one here.
