Lat we're not ham eaters because we're religious either. Its just fucking tasty lol. Most Easter or Christmas my mom usually likes lamb. Which depending on how gamey it tastes I don't like.

You have to have a pretty small Ham to fit in a 6 qt Crock Pot, but it is doable in a Crock. I prefer baking myself, and we have a huge Crock here.

Generic dude had a VERY strong aversion to lamb due to his time in the middle east. I did not know of this aversion and purchased a nice juicy 200ish pound lamb and promptly butchered it and put it in the deep freeze. I don't prepare it the way I do other types of meat. Different seasonings and never EVER overcook it. He decided it wasn't as bad as previously thought. Still not his favourite but we didn't have to throw anything away.

I thought I didn't like lamb but it turned out what my uncle, a sheep farmer, was sending us was mutton, which is older, tougher and sheepier.

Lamb burgers are yummy. With all that lamb in the freezer, you should have plenty to spare for the grinder, especially the tougher cuts. Oh, and don't waste the fat. You can make a yummy blend from both. Um, don't forget the fresh corn neither, eh ?

The lamb is long gone. That was several years ago. Sweet corn won't be for a few more months. Right now we are begging for rain so get the morels to pop. I am waiting impatiently for fresh peas and salad greens.

My mom is famous for over cooking, and not knowing what she's doing and cooking things wrong. or preparing them wrong. She told me that lamb is gamey or not based on the kind cause if you get new Zealand lamb it's not gamey, but if you get say another kind of lamb it is. Now i don't know lamb from jack shit, so i don't know if there's different lambs from different continents* i think i got that part right* but i do know some lamb she fixes tastes phenomenally better than others. quote: ORIGINAL: LaTigresse Lamb is delish IF it is prepared properly. TFB, this lamb was born and spent it's entire life on a farm about 15 miles from where I live. Knowing that farmer like I do, no fancy breeding. Just a regular old white sheep. What they eat, how old when butchered, and whether or not the person doing the butchering knew what they were doing....makes all the difference. If it is not skinned properly, it can make it very gamey tasting. Much like venison.

I just go to the "Honey Baked Ham" store near me..they have the best ham of this type...yum...but it might be pricier...

So how'd the ham come out? Here's a recipe for leftovers. (Feel free to omit the pimentos.) Ham Tetrazzini Ingredients 2 tablespoons chopped onion 1 tablespoon butter 1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup 1/2 cup water 1/2 cup shredded Cheddar cheese 1 cup diced ham 6 ounces spaghetti 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley 2 tablespoons chopped pimento peppers Directions Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Add pasta and cook for 8 to 10 minutes or until al dente; drain. In a large saucepan over medium-high heat, saute chopped onion in butter until tender. Stir in cream of mushroom soup, water, and shredded cheese. Heat mixture until cheese melts, stirring often. Add ham, cooked and drained pasta, chopped pimento, and chopped parsley to saucepan; stir. Stir until heated through, serve hot!

Yesterday we went to Generic Dude's father's house and once again, his father's wife turned a ham into shoe leather. The turkey was equally as appetizing.
