Status: offline 		I finished Among the Cannibals, a gastric masterpiece, I'm thinking of converting to Hindu.

Now on Diamonds GGS, never read it before, a bit outdated.

I know I know, there is another thread of similar theme, but I can't be bothered this far into my cups.

I'll add a twist: what is it about this book you value?

it's a resource for an assignment i'm doing, but it resonates both with the tone of my studies and with my own views of economics on a local domestic scale. i have a hard time getting my head around the global scale of economics

Status: offline 		Siddhartha, by Hermann Hesse. My son recommended it, but I am not very interested in spirituality, so I haven't found it too interesting.

Re-reading Stephen King's Dark Tower books to get me in the mood for his in-between book The Wind Through the Keyhole which came out in a limited edition in February and will be fully released this month. I'm # 8 for it at the library, which has ordered 8 copies. I've learned to get into the hold queue ASAP.

Yes, I'm eclectic :)

Status: offline 		I never finished the Dark Tower, I think I read the first couple of books back in the 80's, Living with the Devil sounds interesting.

I do need to read Schumacher, I've been aware of the book for some time, and it might be timely at the moment, given we're headed towards a Gibsonian dystopia without all the slick shit.

Siddhartha I read long ago, I love Hesse, and Siddhartha made a big impression on me.

Status: offline 		I'm coming up on the end of "The Original Illustrated Sherlock Holmes". It's fascinating, they reproduced the newspaper style column layout, with the original drawings and everything. Way back in elementary school I used to read Sherlock Holmes, and re-reading it is kind of the breather, the break, in between reading the heavier Ayn Rand philosophy I'm still working through.

Status: offline 		Nothing in particular at the moment.....re-reading All Creatures Great and Small by James Herriott.....saw it in the Humane Society's Thrift shop and haven't read it in years. Got a bunch of other light reading too. Just going thru all my books and reading whatever strikes me at the time....I was reading the Stephanie Plum books again, stopped on 12 Sharp.

I recommend '2030' by Albert Brooks (yes, the actor). Fiction, but a little too close to home to be mere entertainment.
