needatrumaster -> Christianity, Spiritualism - Submissive (4/6/2012 7:10:17 AM)

I'm just wondering if there is anyone out there who is a Christian, is very involved in their church, basically live a Christian life but at the same time are a Dom/Master

There's a lifestyle called TakeninHand, Domestic Discipline, Head of Household, etc., that postulates that the man is the head of the house and sets and enforces the rules, usually with disciplinary spankings. It has a strong Christian undertone to it.

Welcome to collarme.

You beat me to it!

But I haz a link: http://www.takeninhand.com/search/node/christian

Taken in hand has interesting articles, but the ads are way old and not helpful in meeting somoene. There are Christains, like me, on this site, and everywhere else. I meet Christains on this site. If it is something important you are looking for, just hold out for it.

I was thinking that same thing. When did we stop allowing Christians here? LOL Also, I personally find taken-in-hand to be a bit poisonous. There's the hypocrisy of "We're not kinky and we despise those kinky folks but we have to spank our wives constantly." Either those men have the worst behaved wives of all time or else they're covering.

Doesn't fetlife also have a few groups specifically targeted at BDSM and Christianity?

kalikshama -> RE: Christianity, Spiritualism - Submissive (4/6/2012 4:10:54 PM)

Have you tried setting the search criteria for Dom and adding keyword "Christian?"

Right after we Jews took over the site. Didn't you get the memo? Or did we screw up and write it in Yiddish?

JeffBC -> RE: Christianity, Spiritualism - Submissive (4/6/2012 5:23:10 PM)

ROFL. I suddenly had a flash of those crowd scenes in South Park where one guy yells something then they all start repeating it and it gets more incomprehensible each time.

It's the Jews!
IT'S the JEWS!
IGG GAH JRRRR!

lol. I think I needed to insert a "get er done" somewhere in there randomly

Arturas -> RE: Christianity, Spiritualism - Submissive (4/15/2012 4:03:23 PM)

What does a Master say?

Yes.

Not only that. I know others. It is very common.

Did you have a follow-on question? It appears you also know being a Dom and a Christian is not mutually exclusive. You also probably know that He holds men responsible for the woman who they accept as theirs and he forbids nothing between them except selfish love, the love that is only for yourself and not her. So, since "real" Doms are not doing this for selfish reasons and they indeed hold themselves responsbile for the woman's welfare under their control there is no conflict.

Yup. We both are and neither of us have any conflicts with bdsm. In fact the bdsm I think ties strongly into our christian life....obedience, structure, suffering, The Godhead and the mouthpiece of God, submission and servitude to a higher power.

SirRussellP -> RE: Christianity, Spiritualism - Submissive (4/16/2012 3:24:43 PM)

Part of the problem is that saying "Christian" is a lot like trying to buy cigarettes. So many different brands and then so many different types in the brands.

I do consider myself to be Christian but haven't found a church that actually follows the teaching of Christ.

JustADomInWA -> RE: Christianity, Spiritualism - Submissive (4/21/2012 9:42:01 PM)

I am a Christian. I'm not sure if i am a good one or a bad one, that would depend on your point of view, and I have certainly done a lot of things as a Dom and Master that would have denominational church-goers shaking their collective heads. However, it is Sunday midday and I have just come home from attending church, so i am not just a nominal Christian.

If you want to discuss the matter further, write to me at jzanelson at hot mail dot com (my Cm profile is Hidden at the moment)

Good bless,

James

I am Dom and go to church but I can't say I'm the spokesperson for "Christianity"

As I chime in every time I see Taken In Hand knocked around a bit like this, I will do so again, here.

I think it's equally hypocritical for people on a BDSM board to lump all those involved in TIH as being so judgmental. For every TIH follower who does feel that way, there are plenty who don't. To judge an entire group on the feelings of a few would be like judging all of us here on the forums based on the actions of fill-in-the-blank.

I used to have quite an interest in TIH and I have never found a disdain for BDSM to be a consistent undercurrent. Many readily admit to the sexual fulfillment from spankings and submission, though they may use different words for it.

There are elements to TIH that are very specific that some aspects of BDSM just don't fit into, so yes, it's specific. The exclusion of certain BDSM activities, and the inclusion of power based on gender, does lead some to view their beliefs as judgmental of others. I, personally, have not found that to be the case.

Kana -> RE: Christianity, Spiritualism - Submissive (4/23/2012 9:39:35 AM)

Ahem-I know that folks out there may find this hard to believe, but Kana actually spent a year in Seminary-was gonna totally be a priest.
The main reason I dropped out is sexually proclivities...I could see the headlines before they happened, "Priest involved in sick sex BDSM scandal with choir director and 1/2 of the congregation. News at 11"

My family didn't need that type of humiliation.

Shit, nowadays, with CNN and the internet, the story would have gone viral in minutes.

another1harder -> RE: Christianity, Spiritualism - Submissive (4/25/2012 11:50:10 PM)

Christianity. As long as you are forgiven. There is no mention in the bible about such things. Old Test mentions treating women properly. i.e. not disgracefully. So use bondage as body worship. Case closed.

As far as I can tell, Christianity is all about domination and submission.
