And the contents of that uterus are not hers either. It is a unique human life. Scientifically speaking of course. Her right to convenience does not trump that unborn human's right to life.

And I notice that you didn't bother to define "independent life". Since that is the crux of your argument, you would think you would be able to define it objectively. After all, if the definition is merely subjective, you could very easily be defined as a "nonindependent life" and someone would have the right to kill you.

The contents of that uterus are not hers? OK, then she can get rid of those contents, or give them to the state. Why should she be required to take care of something that isn't hers and that she doesn't want?
If you, as an external person, want to tell HER that she has to use HER body for YOUR purposes, then you should PAY her for it!
If the government is preventing her from doing what she wants with her body, either the government pays her the fair value of a surrogate mother, or they have violated the 5th amendment!
Or can you name any other job that pays 5 figures on the open market, but that the government can force you to do for them without paying you?

Here you go:

The report also found that 46 per cent of the victims of US air strikes whose gender could be determined were female and 39 per cent were children.

Number of women and children killed in Iraq air raids 'disproportionately high

I guess the war on women and children is going so well on you over there, you decided to bring on home eh?

I think I already addressed this once today, apparently only Christian blastocysts have souls, Iraqi children are damned anyway so it don't matter.

Oh yeah it is, and always has been, that's the burden of being born female, it' s no different than any other mammal.

So then you believe one human being OWNS another legally in the US? Because that is what you are actually saying.

It's not belief, it's politics - tell me the name of one fucking Iraqi or Afghani killed by us in the last 10 years: you got 15 seconds.

How many of those people have been children? You can take your time on that one.

What makes you think I advocate FOR what is happening in Iraq or Afghanistan? Assumptions are not becoming. They make you look like an idiot.

FFS, people, we aren't talking about a shirt or a car. We are talking about a human being.

No, I'm saying it's not a human yet - at 26 weeks it doesn't have the metal capacity of an earthworm, and the bulk of terminations occur well before that.

It makes you an idiot toeing the political line of those that did approve and thinking you can distance yourself.

If you voted republican, you voted for this, own it.

You should do perhaps 30 seconds of research before embarrassing yourself.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Homeostasis

quote:

Homeostasis (from Greek: ὅμοιος, hómoios, "similar"[1], and στάσις, stásis, "standing still"[2]) is the property of a system that regulates its internal environment and tends to maintain a stable, constant condition of properties like temperature or pH.

...

With regard to any given life system parameter, an organism may be a conformer or a regulator. On one hand, regulators try to maintain the parameter at a constant level over possibly wide ambient environmental variations. On the other hand, conformers allow the environment to determine the parameter. For instance, endothermic animals (mammals and birds) maintain a constant body temperature, while ectothermic animals (almost all other organisms) exhibit wide body temperature variation.

Temperature being only ONE homestatic parameter.

http://www.iraqbodycount.org/

Iraq Body Count is an ongoing human security project which maintains and updates the world’s largest public database of violent civilian deaths during and since the 2003 invasion. The count encompasses non-combatants killed by military or paramilitary action and the breakdown in civil security following the invasion.

Data is drawn from cross-checked media reports, hospital, morgue, NGO and official figures to produce a credible record of known deaths and incidents. (more in About IBC)

Documented civilian deaths from violence: 106,175 – 115,995

Full analysis of the WikiLeaks' Iraq War Logs may add 13,750 civilian deaths.

Well no, actually, asking 400 Republicans if they are "somewhat liberal" or "very liberal" isn't a silly question. Not at all. It is after all a poll, inane questions are a requirement of such efforts.

The pie chart in the lower right section would be of interest regarding the OP here. As we can see, based on black/white interracial marriages by region, the Northeast's genuine acceptance of such in the only meaningful way, i.e. by actual participation, is only 13.6% of b/w marriages as compared to the South's 50.9%.

I doubt many would disagree that were a poll to be taken in a state such as, say, NY, a high percentage of respondents would claim that they accept black/white marriage.

The the above data nevertheless present the indisputable fact that by criteria of actual black/white interracial marriage participation the Northeast is the clearly the most racist region in the country; 2.5% more racist than the West, 7.7% more racist than the Midwest, and 76% more racist than the South. This assessment is, of course, fully congruent with the geist of the OP, and should be taken with commensurate consideration.

OTOH we could just take another unscientific poll to refute the facts. That seems to be popular.

kalikshama -> RE: Anti-Family-Planners *DO* miss the good old Slave days... (4/9/2012 5:46:29 AM)

I disagree with your conclusion. I believe the higher rate of interracial marriage in the South is due to demographics:

http://www.infoplease.com/spot/bhmcensus1.html

38%

Percent of Mississippi's total population that was black in 2010. Mississippi led the nation in this category followed by Louisiana (33 percent), Georgia (32 percent), Maryland (31 percent), South Carolina (29 percent) and Alabama (27 percent).

Try reading this again:

Then again, you apparently agree that asking 400 rural white Republicans what they think about interracial marriage is conducive to arriving a proper conclusion regarding the entire state, one which you share with the OP, being as that you had no objection to it, but rather attempted to fortify it with an even more bizarre effort.

Yeah, but PH and Calcium ion balance aren't. See. You're using a crazy definition of homeostatis == temperature regulation, when that's ONLY valid for mammals and birds.

The correct definition can be found by READING THE LINKED WIKIPEDIA ARTICLE, which while not definitive, I believe is accurate.

Unless you have a problem with the information on wikipedia I linked to, kindly now STFU.

Actually, the hypothesis itself if founded upon objective analysis of policy goals of Anti-Family-Planners, and since their position is predicated upon the belief that the contents of a woman's body aren't in fact, "Her Property"

If in their eyes, it's not HER property, then it must be theirs, or The States, or their gods'...

If that ain't chattel slavery, what is?

The linked study just confirms the hypothesis. One more data point proving the theory.
