The contempt of women who say they want women to be free to choose, for women who don't make the choices they approve of, has slipped into the daylight again. When you read the whole quote you can see that Rosen was not intentionally or specifically 'attacking' stay at home moms, as such, she was very ineptly trying to say that Ann Romney had no clue about economic concerns because she never had a paying job. "But he doesn't connect on that issue either. What you have is Mitt Romney running around the country saying, 'Well, you know my wife tells me that what women really care about are economic issues and when I listen to my wife that's what I'm hearing.' Guess what? His wife has actually never worked a day in her life. She's never really dealt with the kinds of economic issues that a majority of the women in this country are facing in terms of how do we feed our kids, how do we send them to school and why do we worry about their future. [...] He just seems so old-fashioned when it comes to women and I think that comes across and I think that that's going to hurt him over the long term. He just doesn't really see us as equal." What strikes me far more than any inadvertent dig at stay home moms is Rosen's all around cluelessness as to think stay home moms don't deal with "how do we feed our kids, how do we send them to school and why do we worry about their future." Right. I'm sure the moms who raise kids at home don't know about the economic issues that women in this country face. What a dolt! As bad as that is, she also makes the presumption that people who don't get a paycheck therefor don't read the papers or magazines and aren't aware of what goes on in the world or what the issues are or are not able to understand them. Apparently a stay home moms' education, regardless how advanced, is negated by raising kids at home, which turns her brain to mush. What a flaming idiot. She is called a 'strategist? Yeah, excellent strategy that commentary was.

Yeah, it was a moronic remark too. What she should have said is "I doubt Ann Romney has had many economic worries since marrying Mitt..." and left it at that. I mean, for her to talk about all her economic worries, while married to a multimillionaire and heir... It is as silly as asking an all male panel for advice on birth control.

Ann Romney never had to worry about how to PAY to feed her kids, never had to worry about how to PAY her bills, never had or has to worry about her kids financial security and how they were going to be able to PAY for life. Most problems in life for most people are by far...money problems. NOT for Ann and her kids. Rich people have problems, they just DON'T have...money problems. Ann Romney doesn't have a clue about the economics of the poor or what poor moms go through like which Cadillac to drive them to soccer or which 5 star rest. to go eat at tonight. Get a grip.

Through her personal experience right? No question, Ann Romney had a lot more funds at hand than Rosen, but the latter had more than sufficient income to be well above concern or worry about any financial aspect of raising her kids. Aside from that, did it ever occur to you or Rosen that lots of high profile Democrats from either politics or business have very high incomes, no doubt at least a few stay home moms in that group? Does that high income which prevents personal experience in raising kids with a low income disqualify them as having anything to say about the matter? Just more typical Democrat BS about Republicans being the only rich people, that all rich people are inherently greedy and uncaring, that a person with one experience has no clue about or capacity for insight into any other experience ... The nonsense of simpletons. No wonder I despise having to vote in this era. No wonder I despise political anything, but especially the completely and utterly ridiculous crap from 'strategists' of both parties.

Ann Romney doesn't understand the economic needs of the poor because she is rich? By the same logic, rich kids who went to prestegious universitys' and are now professors teaching in a college. Constantly surrounded by Achievers (most college students are achievers) Are you saying they have no concept of poor people and poor people's problems? Damm, from some of the socialistic drivel comming from college professors, mayby you're correct.

Can`t seem to have a thought on topic? Sorry bout`that. Thanks to the normal folks who did stay on topic. Rossen has good points but said them poorly. The point IMO was that Ann Romeny isn`t your typical American stay at home mom. Her choices and opportunities were were vastly greater than the average America.Hard scrabble stories of woe hardship are NOT the narratives of Mrs. Romney. All the dems have to do is wait for the Romneys to make such claims and then nail them. Ridiculing Mrs. Romeny or anyone for not having to work, is a step to far

I think if this had been a republican you would have been all over it, talking about what an evil bitch she is and how it proves that the repubs are waging a war on women. Though they chose that apartment due to proximity to campus and did not live a cushy life as students, her father was president of Jered Industries and his father was an 8 yr. CEO of American Motors Corp. and three term governor of Mich. I'm not sure that anything of genuine financial worry would have come into it. Enough worry from raising a baby while going to school, though. Still doesn't mean that Hilary Rosen isn't a class F putz.

Actually most liberals are live and let live types..... Keep the gov. and/or the moral elitists out of our bedrooms,churches and private lives.... And help those in need.... Kinda the opposite of cons..... I don`t see any of the "outraged" cons giving us other examples of this type of extreme comment from democratic leaders. Cuz there aren`t many,if at all.The attacks on women and women`s rights/privacy by the GOP has far to many examples to mention.The record of contemp...... speaks for it`self. All things being equal yada yada....the biggest difference between democrats and republicans is not that both don`t have fuck ups. Anyone or any party can do/say fucked up(the cons are just making it an art form recently)shit. The biggest difference between the two parties............. is how they handle the fuck-ups. I don`t think what Hillary Clinton said all those years ago.......that made cons mouth-breath and pee their pants.....was all that bad. She made her choices too and I`m kinda glad she did.I`m looking forward to voting for her in '16'[:D]
