I was coming on here to look around for a Dominant but then like the 3rd ad I looked at stopped me in my tracks, wow, so I have to hold up and see if She answers. Until I know that I can't care if there are other ads to look at. Even then if She doesn't answer I am still screwed because I would compare the rest to Her, and have to hang it up for a while until the response I had to Her picture had time to fade. Did that ever happen to you? I wasn't expecting it. I think what I will do if She is not interested is just delete and come back with a new profile after a month or so spent moping, sulking or cursing fate, whichever way works best to get it out of my system.

First, welcome to the site and this board, and good luck on your journey. Sounds like you're over-romanticizing the profile of a woman you don't know. I've felt like that - OMG, she seems like a perfect match, and her pics make my heart melt. But you can't do that! She may not be attracted to you, or she might think you're not a match. Your setting up yourself for needless disappointment and drama, and planning a month of sulking and self pity. Try to avoid that, and save your excitement for when you actually do correspond with a real live person that has already returned interest in you.

Okay, so the chances that this person with whom you've fallen for (ONLINE NEVER HAVING EXCHANGED EVEN A SINGLE WORD YET) won't work out. Is this the thread you want the next possibly-realistic partner to see? Welcome to CM.

I don't have any romantic ideas going on at all. It's just a simple response to looking at Her picture. think positive. You're right I could set myself up for a crash if I was unrealistic and overly hopeful, but luckily that is not what I am doing. I am all system go from the starting point of how I felt looking at her picture. Enthusiasm! Yes! But it's not like I expect a reply or will be bummed out if I don't get one. The stuff about moping was tongue-in-cheek. I am 99.999999% sure she won't reply. Oh well. But if she does, wow!!!! make sense? I guess you had to be there. I can be blown away by how someone looks, sometimes. I LIKE it when that happens. Deleting and coming back would be to reduce my embarrassment, not that it really matters.

I'm a heterosexual male dom, and I have a profile of a dominant female. I haven't logged in with that profile for a couple years, and I asked Support if it was ok with them if I made it before I did, and they said it was. I created it for a particular reason, which I won't discuss. I've had men send me very compromising photos, declaring their love, when I didn't encourage them to in the slightest. You might be in love with a guy.

Yeah, I know about the potential for a run-in with reality when using the internet. She could be a He. She could be someone using the site to do research for a class. She could be a scammer collecting email addresses. She could be a woman pretending to be a man who was pretending to be a woman! I take these possibilities into account and compare the risks with the effort it takes me sitting at home typing on the computer. On the other hand she could be Her and I meet someone new and things go well. which is more than will happen if I watch TV without also typing at the computer. I appreciate the warnings and the wisdom you guys have shared. Don't worry I am OK with the way it goes, or doesn't go.

I should. No reply from What's-Her-Name :( I should either gnash my teeth in despair, or go check out some more ads! Decisions, decisions...and me without my Magic 8-ball. O, the agony of the feet, as it compares to thrilling victory. I wonder if it's better to suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune, or watch some TV. Don't worry about my shattered ego hanging by the merest thread. Two minutes of hearty sulking and I am good as new.
