dcnovice -> Universally Crappy Day? (4/18/2012 5:42:31 PM)

So today (Thursday 4/18) was pretty much Murphy's Law Day for me and everyone I know. Was it crappy for you too? Was there some bizarre alignment of the planets or something?

LadyHibiscus -> RE: Universally Crappy Day? (4/18/2012 6:18:04 PM)

This was my first day off in months, and it was productive and entertaining. Errands were run, marshmallows and ice cream were consumed, luxuries were indulged in.

Sorry, DC. ~hugs~

fucktoyprincess -> RE: Universally Crappy Day? (4/18/2012 6:26:29 PM)

A slightly weird day for me. Not as productive as usual, but my printer wouldn't work all morning, and then I had ordered a CD online that when I opened the sealed package - had no CD inside the jewel box (that's a first for me!)

Anyway, I know of nothing going on astrologically, except that it is a new moon on 4/21. I thought maybe Mercury was in retrograde, but not so....

yourdarkdesire -> RE: Universally Crappy Day? (4/18/2012 6:47:28 PM)

umm, honey - the reason it was weird...........is that it is only Wednesday. You're not that many time zones away from me.

MysticFireTopaz -> RE: Universally Crappy Day? (4/18/2012 6:58:39 PM)

Definitely started off on the wrong foot! I was already running later. There is a lot of road construction in my area, and this morning there was a new configuration of temporary lanes on the road I take to get to the freeway. The lane that I thought was for left-hand turns actually was for traffic in the opposite direction! I managed to get back on course. Naturally, there was a cop waiting for me. I expected her to pull me over once I made the left turn, as there was a nearby parking lot. Instead, she stopped me right in the left-turn lane and made everyone go around us. A couple of people cursed at her as they went by. After giving me the third degree, she asked "Were you just confused?" I told her I was very confused and very embarrassed. I was fortunate and did not receive a ticket.

I'm sure I wasn't the only confused person who did a no-no today. Luckily, I wasn't hit and didn't get a ticket, and for that I'm thankful. But it is SO embarrassing to be pulled over and have everyone staring at you, right in a prominent place!

Then, a few pieces of chocolate chip from my snack bar fell onto my shirt. I didn't notice it and somehow leaned forward against my desk and ground them in. I had to retire to the bathroom to get the stains out.

Then I got a phone meeting request from my boss in Boston for a "one-on-one meeting." Since he usually ignores me, I was alarmed. It turns out he wants to have one of these meetings with everyone in the department, thank God.

For the most part, I just tried to lay low, as I had a feeling it just wasn't one of my days.

Today was okay. Yesterday was worse. So far this month has been kinda messed up though. Just as the grass is getting out of control the lawn tractor gasped it's last breath. We gotta get a new one..........they are god damned expensive motherfuckers.

I can well imagine it was bad for you....you must be working on a totally different calendar cuz for me....4/18 happened on a Wednesday.......just an observation.....[8|]

LadyHibiscus -> RE: Universally Crappy Day? (4/18/2012 7:16:23 PM)

It IS Wednesday! All I know is the tax season is OVER.

Musicmystery -> RE: Universally Crappy Day? (4/18/2012 7:58:55 PM)

I have a friend who says, "Did you have a bad day? Or did you have a bad moment and milk it all day?"

Reminds me that even on not so great days, lots of things are still great.

kitkat105 -> RE: Universally Crappy Day? (4/18/2012 8:14:59 PM)

I was mildly annoyed at stuff but it could've been worse.

Kaliko -> RE: Universally Crappy Day? (4/18/2012 8:18:52 PM)

Nope! Good day! I made plans with some girlfriends for sangrias at my house, I cleaned my house while listening to Pandora on my earphones, and I found my work credit card! (Whew!)

Apparently your day was worse than you realized, even your calendar isn't working right.

Every day is a good day when you can't find your name in the obituaries column of the paper.

another1harder -> RE: Universally Crappy Day? (4/18/2012 11:51:46 PM)

A neighbor of mine woke up and had a gut wrenching feeling something bad would happen. So he called in sick. There was a sewer explosion where the sewer cover flew up into the air, came down through his roof and attic, and landed on his mattress next to where he was laying. Throwing him against the opposite wall. Should have gone to work.

SoulAlloy -> RE: Universally Crappy Day? (4/19/2012 2:26:44 AM)

Not really a crappy day overall, my depression has been acting up all week though and have been feeling awful despite everything not looking too bad.

And just in that self spiralling way you do, I feel depressed about feeling depressed over apparently nothing, when there are so many other people out there managing with much more to get depressed about...

Writing that out has made me feel a bit better though oddly lol

You don't want to be there when the shit flies...

LOL! I guess it was even worse than I realized!

Good questions, Muse! I've definitely done the milk-a-moment thing, but 4/18 (whatever day it was!) was a day that kept on giving.

True. I'm probably overdue for a gratitude list.

LadyHibiscus -> RE: Universally Crappy Day? (4/23/2012 8:32:34 PM)

My weekend was hellish! I got unexpectedly triggered by something a friend said and fought it for days. Bonus point to me for handling it and not blaming him for what was not intended to be a cruel remark.

Fighting this kind of thing with logic is SUCH a non starter!

I was going to quote something about a statistically higher number of cancellations and no-shows on flights that had crashed than expected but it turned out to be a plot device in "The Stand."
