I was just wondering, if there was any Sanitizing Solutions that could be used on bondage toys rubber, metal and steel? Old fasioned soap and water just dosent seem to cut it with some toys.

It all depends upon who uses/is used on, the toy. For leather or rubber metal or steel you can use barbercide. For metal or steel or non-porous materials you can use enviorocide(spelling?). When using either one, it is best to liberally wipe it on the item you want to clean then let it sit for any where from one to five minutes. The more people the item is used on the longer the sanitizing. Remember things like horsehair whips are things that are best used on ONE person only. they create too many little breaks in the skin. The crackers on a bull/snake whip fall into the same catagory, if you play with more than one person. Sanitizers are harsh on some products, so use a conditioner whenever possible. Some toys will absorb the sanitizer so rinse fully and alwyas look for signs of irritation/allergic reactions. Depending upon the product and the sensitvities of those using the toys a wipe with Povidone Iodine(let sit one to five minutes) and a thorough rinse can be enough. Remember that any Iodine solution may stain(even permenantly). The more people use the toy, the more you want to clean it, the higher the level of cleanliness required to keep you and the one you are playing with safe. Isopropyl Alcohol is only good as long as it is there, when it is gone so are its anticeptic properties.

Make cleanliness a part of your scene:
Clean each toy before it is used
Clean each toy after the scene is over
This can be part of each scene ritual and helps with aftercare. Having a sub/slave clean the impliments after they have been used on them, gives them the oppertunity to rehash/solidy the pleasure that was experienced; as well as learn how to clean each impliment. A good Master will elicit some feelings from the sub/slave about the impliment that they are cleaning and get some honest feedback to use the next time.

There is a product called Roccal D, it's pricey but well worth the cost. It kills both bacteria and viruses and can be diluted greatly to make the gallon go a long way. It works well on all types of surfaces and there are generic brands out there, but I prefer the name brand.

I use Oster Spray, which comes in a can for about $6 at any Beauty Supply Store, like Sally's. So far it hasn't ruined any of my leather...although recently I noticed a slight discoloration on the "back" side of some flogger tails..nothing to deter me from using it in the future. I love it, it's a spray so it's quick and easy and kills just about everything, including HIV.

I use it on all my metal toys too. I don't have much rubber so I can't say but I think it would be fine, but test a small area first.

Way to go for being Clean and Safe!

~You do need to be careful of Barbercide Plus, it can eat through rubber if you immerse things in it to long..I've lost many of my favorite haircutting combs to it. Also, it can leave a residue on rubber as well so it must be rinsed and then rubbed down...but yes it's a great cleanser.

Oh I forgot, if you know a barber or stylist who can get into a Peels ( beauty supply for stylists) you can pick up something called Biotech it will kill the AIDS virus..If I recall correctly you need to leave things immersed for 20 minutes - one hour, but it's been years since I've used it, so I would read the instructions. It can be expensive but well worth it..it'll also kill lice
