Gorgeous pup. What a face!

But, at the risk of getting cyber yelled at, I gotta say I am so totally against the cropped ears, it kinda makes me sick.

LaTigresse -> RE: pup pic (4/21/2012 5:07:05 AM)

I think most people are against the ear and tail cropping today. I know I am. It is inhumane and unnecessary.

calamitysandra -> RE: pup pic (4/21/2012 7:07:30 AM)

It is even illegal in a bunch of counties. And while the puppy is adorable, I am pretty sure she would be so, or even more so, with all of her ears, too.
We had a thread on that not too long ago. Click

OsideGirl -> RE: pup pic (4/21/2012 10:26:39 AM)

She's got a very sweet face.

TNDommeK -> RE: pup pic (4/21/2012 11:26:29 AM)

This particular breed has the tails docked, but the ears are optional. The last min pin I owned had regular length ears. I would prefer that. As a matter of fact, when I talked to the woman that was selling her, she told Me how spoiled she was, etc. At which I thought that was perfect. So when I go to looka t her, the lady looked like she literally lived in her car. She had her on "large breed" food. She looked underweight. She brought the mother and father dogs with and they looked lie they had been in fights. They were all scared up. There was no way I was letting this baby stay another minute with this woman. I immediately bought her and took her to the vet. The vet told Me, that you aren't supposed to crop there ears until they were a older. The pup had just turned 6 weeks. (too young to get away from her mother). The vet said the lady probably docked her ears herself because they were a tad bit uneven. I was furious but so happy I got her away from that woman. She even showed Me some records of shots that she had given the dog while nursing from the mother. And if any of you know, that would totally not work. When the mother feeds the pups, her milk has certain things in it that help the pup be strong, healthy etc until you can take her to the vet. The shots would not have worked. So the vet said we can start her over on her shots. So we did. Ya'll have no idea how bad I want to beat that woman senseless. But I didn't. lol. Seriously, she often posts in the paper about her dogs, as I have seen her ad before. It really makes Me wonder what those other pups are going through.

calamitysandra -> RE: pup pic (4/21/2012 12:09:04 PM)

That poor baby!

TNDommeK -> RE: pup pic (4/21/2012 12:33:27 PM)

I know right! But as you can tell now, she is perfect and happy. And at this very moment, is asleep on my neck. I am sitting on the couch with lap top in lap, and she has nestled her way under My chin, on my shoulder and under my hair. She is the sweetest baby in the world, and her loves her mama. (sorry for the baby talk) Lol.

LaTigresse -> RE: pup pic (4/21/2012 12:41:54 PM)

No need to apologise for mushy baby talk.

RE the woman you got your baby from, We have similar sorts around here. Sadly, it is the agricultural industry, in this state, that has made it so difficult to get rid of puppy mills and unethical animal breeders.

TNDommeK -> RE: pup pic (4/21/2012 12:46:44 PM)

You are right, this woman was just...wrong from the start. You know how you can just have that sense of "I do not like anything about this person" before you actually know them? I had that the moment I saw her. Everything about her was off. I feel so bad for the other pups she has. Poor babies.

LaTigresse -> RE: pup pic (4/21/2012 1:40:10 PM)

Report her to the human society ASPCA, whatever organizations have the most power in your area.

It's possible, depending on the laws in your area, that nothing will be done. It is also possible that the rest of those pups will be removed from her care, she will be charged with abuse and forbid from having more animals.

Lucky pup! There's a few posters here who'd love that vantage point. [:D]

She's so adorable. Sending smooches to the pooch!
