I be real hesitant to anything with it other than wiping it down.....let the battle scars show....that's the sign of a warrior

There really isn't a whole lot you can do with plastic. If you try polishing the scratched areas you will create a "blush" in those spots or if successful polishing, you might end up warping it. If you try chemical solutions you could end up compromising the molecular chains in the area and ultimately cause cracking. If it doesn't affect the performance or function....just let it go......

I would avoid anything like nail polish, Ash, the chemicals in that can MELT plastics! The stuff you polish car seats with might work. You're not dealing with something porous, so there is a limit to what you can do. Stickers? Model paint? I am a big fan of spray paint.

That looks like my old laptop that G.D. has been using here at home. I thought it was dying a year ago but it seems to be chugging on.

I wouldn't bother to polish, just keep it clean.

What she said, Ash.
There are some polishes that can remove the top layer of plastic to minimise scratches, but I'd be wary of using any of them on a computer case.
Really, if it works, it doesn't matter how tatty the wrapper looks.

You are my playing with my spirit .....

If I was restoring (1966 Shelby Mustang GT 500) all of you well tell me do this ... dont do that....

Dell6400 is like 1966 Shelby Mustang GT 500.. its not over heated.... even with games.. some (ram) upgrades..
the main bord is Intel 945 which dose not upgradable for more than 2GB ram.. but it work like hell on those bad-boys
.. it was working like charm on se7en, vista but I wanted to downgrade it to XP SP2, which I use for My network.

1.66, dual core Processor, & I think I got another one (in the broken one) 1.73
that remind me of another qustion:

I have a 1.66 T2300, with 2MB L2cach (667-MHz-FSB)
http://ark.intel.com/products/27233/Intel-Core-Duo-Processor-T2300-(2M-Cache-1_66-GHz-667-MHz-FSB)

& in the broken one there is 1.73 T2080 with 1MB L2cash & (533 MHz FSB) which i dont know what the fuck it means....??
http://ark.intel.com/products/29740/Intel-Pentium-Processor-T2080-(1M-Cache-1_73-GHz-533-MHz-FSB)

what is the 667Mhz FSB.. means & which one of them is better?..

remember i have now running 1.66 T2300 L2 =2 MB..

FSB = Front Side Bus. This bus is used to move data between the CPU and main memory. Higher frequencies are better since, for the same bus width, you get a higher data transfer bandwidth.

L2 Cache stores frequently used data for the CPU so it will not have to be retrieved from the (relatively) much slower main memory each time it is needed. A larger cache is better since it reduces the chance that performance-killing requests to main memory will be needed.

While the T2300 and T2080 share the same Yonah architecture, the T2300 will generally noticeably outperform the T2080 despite its slightly lower clock rate because of the faster bus and larger cache. For what it's worth, this benchmark gives the T2300 about a 6% higher score.

On the cosmetic side, most metallic-looking plastic cases just have a painted finish, so polishing will probably only rub that off and leave a dull plastic underneath, not restore the initial shiny look. Repainting is possible, but it's not a quick or easy process.

Couple three months. Why? Did you notice how picky I wasn't?

The music was GREAT! ...ahem, pretty good, wasn't it?
